Such an episode happened several times while I was trying to back up in my drive way, it accelerated while I was pressing the brake. 9 Air Bag problem

Failure Date: 03/06/2016

On March 6, 2016, moving west on a residential street at about 20 mph 10:45 p. M. , less than 500' from home. Crystal clear night. Car freezes, steering & brakes lock, car lurches forward and keeps much higher speed. With both arms, I pulled car from head-on with utility pole to very high palm tree. Head-on ith tree, airbag releases, white smoke coming from hood. I turned car off, took keys, car engine continues as did horn blowing & white smoke. It took three aaa trucks to remove car from tree trunk, with steering and brakes still locked. Car was alone on a neighborhood road moving west, driver alone, very residential with people walking dogs, pilots and stews running, joggers and pups and cats prowling. No one was around. A guard from a gated community on the street's north side was the 1st to appear. Eventually 4 poloce officers were there, one talked to me often.

13 Air Bag problem

Failure Date: 09/21/2013

I hit a parked van on the front end. Neither of my airbags deployed. I have had a mri done because of the pain, and have several vertebreas involved. I need physical therapy, shots or surgery to help with pain. I cannot afford these resources. I need to file a claim against the insurance company, or product liability form to receive the physical help I need. Unless Toyota would rather settle with me alone, this will need to become a public matter. I was driving and hit a parked van. The sun was setting, skinny roads with no lines dividing each lane. Personal neighborhood st. Personally, I do not remember the exact date.

20 Air Bag problem

Failure Date: 11/21/2009

To whom it may concern: without hearing the news related to Toyota vehicle recall, I have felt really stupid how I could have had the accident. Recalling the process of the accident, I might have to say it was weird. Before the crash, I clearly noticed the red light and a stopped car just in front of me on n perkins rd, close to mcelroy rd in stillwater, oklahoma, and the distance was more than 20 meters apart at that moment. I pressed on the brake pedal as usual, but my car did not slow down until hit the car before mine, and the airbag did not pop out. My face was knocked onto the steering wheel and one of my glasses smashed, fortunately not making me blind, and two teeth in mouth were bleeding along with some scratches on my face. The car was totaled at the speed of less 40 mi/h. People love Toyota vehicles for the reason of saving gas at the sacrifice of safety. Shortly, the police and ambulance arrived. I declined any medical arrangement after being tested that my mind was under control and could make decision clearly because I was not sure whether my insurance covers the cost or not. And now, as the problem with Toyota vehicles was disclosed, I feel my accident might also be due to the same gas pedal defect. (in stillwater, oklahoma, call: 405-372-4171 to request a report). 21 Air Bag problem

Failure Date: 04/10/2008

Severe cracking over air bag cover on passenger side. Fear that air bags are compromised and will not deploy or deploy prematurely. Also that sharp pieces of broken dashboard will harm others in car.

22 Air Bag problem

Failure Date: 04/26/2005

On April 26, 2005, my daughter driving a 2004 Toyota Camry le (v6) rear-ended another vehicle (an Acura) at an speed of 50+ mph and none of the airbags in the Camry were deployed. Drivers of both cars were taken to hospital for further evaluation. Later, I contacted Toyota corp. Which had one of its inspector inspect the wrecked vehicle and determined "the airbags operated as designed. " I have requested on at least two occasions a copy of the inspection report and other related documents and memos from Toyota corp and they have refused to provide me with the requested documents. In a may 16, 2005, letter sent to me by Toyota, they have stated that "the srs airbags are not designed to inflate if the vehicle is subjected to a rear impact, if it rolls over or if it is involved in a low speed frontal collision. " in reality, our Camry was not rear-ended, did not roll over, and had a high speed frontal collision of 50+mph.
