Tire Pressure Monitoring System problems of the 2004 Toyota Camry

The contact owns a 2004 Toyota solara. The contact stated while driving at various speeds, the tpms indicated that the tire pressure was low however, upon investigation the tires were at the correct tire pressure. The contact stated that the tire pressure warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was not diagnosed nor repaired. The manufacturer was informed of the failure and referred the contact to the local dealer for assistance. The failure mileage was approximately 103,000.

The contact owns a 2004 Toyota Camry. While the vehicle was stationary, the tire pressure monitor (tpm) indicator displayed on the instrument panel. The tpm failed to properly balance the tires. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 51,500.

In some 2004 Toyota Camry, manufacturer recommended in the certification label a tire inflation pressure lower than that required to support gawr. Label: fr/rr 2668 lbs recommended cold tire inflation: 29 psi insufficient tire inflation pressure could result in some fatal accident. Fmvss 110 has requirement regarding tire inflation pressure recommended by vehicle manufacturer. The subject vehicle has a cert. Label which might not meet federal regulation.

Tire warning light will not reset. Continually goes offand comes back on, reset procedures are complicated and do not work. Have checked tire pressure, now simply disregarding the tire light.

Tire pressure warning light goes off periodically and the vehicle was taken to dealership to reset the system which did not work three times. Reset procedures are complicated, time consuming and do not work. I have checked tire pressure for safety and its check out ok.
