I took my car in for an oil change at 47,000 miles and was told that one of my struts is leaking, and it will cost approximately $339 to fix it. I have noticed that several complaints have bee lodged about this situation.

2 Front Suspension problem

Failure Date: 04/16/2011

The contact owns a 2009 Toyota Camry. While the vehicle was undergoing a routine oil change, the mechanic discovered that the front driver and rear passenger struts were defective and leaking. The vehicle was taken to dealer who inspected the vehicle and advised that the struts leaking was a normal occurrence and should not be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was 30,477, and the current mileage was 31,000.

3 Front Suspension problem

Failure Date: 12/23/2010

The contact owns a 2009 Toyota Camry. The contact stated that after having routine maintenance performed on the vehicle, the mechanic advised her that the front struts were leaking oil and needed to be replaced. The manufacturer was contacted and advised her that it was normal and didn't need to be repaired. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 49,000.
