Odometer fraud. The contact owns a 2017 Toyota Camry. The contact purchased the vehicle from a private seller. The contact stated that the selling advertisement reported the odometer reading was 96,187. The contact stated that while registering the vehicle with the local department of motor vehicle, the contact was informed that the previous odometer reading was reported at 290,000. The contact then obtained the carfax report which confirmed that the last odometer reading was 290,000. The seller was contacted and made aware of the discrepancy.
