1 Electrical System problem

Failure Date: 04/30/2026

Pulling into driveway and stepped on brakes at less than 5 mph and whole car started shaking out of nowhere (similar feeling to when you land on the runway in a plane). Steered sharply to not hit other vehicle and hit a tree. Car was inspected less than 3 days ago.

2 Electrical System problem

Failure Date: 03/17/2026

The contact owns a 2025 Toyota Camry. The contact received notification of NHTSA campaign number: 25v595000 (electrical system); and requested to be removed from the recall distribution list. The local dealer and manufacturer were contacted.

3 Electrical System problem

Failure Date: 02/24/2026

I’ve had the vehicle two months and it has the black screen of death. Although there is a massive recall due to this my car is not on the recall list. Why is Toyota allowed to continue selling vehicles that they have known to have this issue since 2023? the car is not safe to drive at all. I didn’t spend 40k for a paper weight. Unacceptable they’ve been allowed to continue to sell vehicles with this defect for years and giving no disclosure about the issue when purchasing the vehicle.

4 Electrical System problem

Failure Date: 02/15/2026

The electrical charging system is failing to properly charge the 12v battery. This is a hybrid vehicle and the hybrid battery is not effected. The dealer has had to replace the battery once as defective but the problem persists. The battery is not being charged and I am getting battery warning lights and a dead battery.

5 Electrical System problem

Failure Date: 02/14/2026

Rear backup camera screen goes blank when car put into reverse. This occurs intermittently.

6 Electrical System problem

Failure Date: 02/11/2026

I was driving on 2/11/2026 at roughly 45 mph and all of sudden my car lost power. The whole engine shut down while the vehicle was still moving. Then it came back up and reset my whole dashboard settings. This is the second time that display has reset itself. I am taking my vehicle back to the dealer for inspection. This is not safe.

7 Electrical System problem

Failure Date: 02/01/2026

On [xxx], I turned on the driver's seat heater. It started on the high setting. In a very short time the heat became extremely uncomfortable and I shut it off. However, the seat continued to release high amounts of heat which resulted in a burn after a few minutes before I could stop and exit the car. The backs of my thighs, my buttocks, my pereneum and part of my scrotum were burned. I saw my primary care doctor the next day and she confirmed it was a first degree burn. She prescribed supplements to help the skin to heal. Last week I saw a dermatologist to see if the skin was healing properly. He said it was but will take more time. It is today April 13, and I still have some discomfort while sitting. It has taken a long time for the inner layers of skin that were damaged to repair itself. I am [xxx] but not diabetic. I intend to have the fuse for the seat heater removed tomorrow so this never happens again. Information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u. S. C. 552(b)(6).

8 Electrical System problem

Failure Date: 01/26/2026

I am reporting new issues with my 2025 Toyota Camry that started immediately after the dealer completed the rear-camera recall service. 1. Right-side wheel housing / suspension problem since the recall, the right side of the car makes a loud noise whenever I drive over small bumps or uneven roads. It may be related to the shock absorber possibly leaking fluid, but the exact cause is unknown. •the part is available for inspection. •this raises a safety concern because it affects stability and may indicate a failing suspension component. •no warning lights appeared. 2. Infotainment screen glitch / electrical issue after the recall work, the infotainment screen began glitching every time I start the vehicle, and while driving it sometimes shows a large red line across the entire screen. •the issue happens randomly but consistently. •it is distracting and may indicate an electrical or software malfunction caused during the recall repair. •no warning messages appeared before the screen failure. 3. Inspection status the vehicle has not yet been inspected for these new issues by Toyota or any third party. The problems did not exist before the recall and began immediately afterward, although the exact cause is unknown. I request a full investigation and inspection for safety concerns.

9 Electrical System problem

Failure Date: 12/16/2025

While driving, the vehicle experienced an unintended side airbag deployment without any collision or impact. At the same time, the seatbelt locked, the vehicle came to a sudden stop, and a hybrid system malfunction warning appeared. The vehicle immediately became undrivable and was towed. The vehicle remains available for inspection and is currently under the manufacturer’s control. This sudden failure created a serious safety risk due to the unexpected airbag deployment and loss of vehicle control while driving. As a result of the incident, I sustained physical injuries and sought medical attention. The vehicle has been inspected by the manufacturer. The manufacturer has stated they are unable to confirm whether the vehicle is safe to operate and the investigation remains ongoing. No warning lights or messages appeared prior to the failure. The event occurred suddenly and without warning. Law enforcement responded to assist with traffic safety and relocation of the disabled vehicle; no formal accident or crash report was generated.

10 Electrical System problem

Failure Date: 12/16/2025

My 2025 Toyota Camry xse (hybrid) is subject to an open safety recall issued December 16, 2025. The recall involves a serious safety risk, and I was advised by the dealership not to drive the vehicle. At the time of the recall, the vehicle was approximately two months old with about 1,500 miles and in like-new condition. Because there is currently no available remedy, I was required to leave the vehicle stored at the dealership. I have been without use of my own vehicle since January 6, 2026 and am using a loaner vehicle solely due to the safety recall, not by choice. Toyota has stated a fix may not be available until at least q1 2026, with no defined repair timeline, and customers are being told to wait without interim mitigation. I am concerned about the inability to safely operate my vehicle and the long-term impact of extended storage on a nearly new hybrid vehicle, including hybrid battery health, fuel and fluid systems, seals, tires, and interior and exterior materials. Prior to the recall, the vehicle was routinely garaged and properly maintained, and extended outdoor storage due to the recall introduces risk of premature wear unrelated to normal ownership use. While the dealership has indicated the vehicle may be started periodically, this does not replace normal driving and ownership use. In addition to loss of use, I am required to maintain a $300 monthly loaner vehicle deposit while my vehicle remains unusable due to the recall. Toyota customer service has stated they cannot escalate or provide assistance and are instructed to close cases without resolution, creating ongoing financial burden through no fault of my own. Toyota has acknowledged similar recalls on other models lasting extended periods, yet no interim remedy, mitigation plan, or customer relief is offered here. I believe this raises concerns regarding recall remedy timeliness, consumer safety, and loss of use.

11 Electrical System problem

Failure Date: 11/21/2025

The contact owns a 2025 Toyota Camry. The contact received notification of NHTSA campaign number: 25v595000 (electrical system); however, the part to do the recall repair was not yet available. The local dealer was contacted. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The manufacturer was not made aware of the issue. The contact had not experienced a failure.

12 Electrical System problem

Failure Date: 08/18/2025

While driving my 2025 Toyota Camry, the infotainment/navigation display screen (center console multimedia system) will randomly and sporadically shut down completely, leaving the screen blank without warning. This has happened multiple times, including while I was backing up and relying on the backup camera, creating an unsafe situation by eliminating visibility. When the screen goes blank while driving, I lose access to navigation, vehicle settings, and other safety-related features, which increases the risk of distraction and potential accidents. There are no warning lamps, error messages, or symptoms prior to the failure and it occurs suddenly. I reported the issue to my Toyota dealership, and they acknowledged it as a factory issue, but I have not been given a timeline for a fix, which has been very frustrating. The vehicle is still available for inspection upon request. I have also seen numerous reports online from other 2025 Camry owners experiencing the same issue, which suggests this may be a widespread defect.

13 Electrical System problem

Failure Date: 05/01/2025

Awd hybrid vehicle makes a noise at speeds under 20mph , that sounds like an electric motor or bearing - salesman said the noise is a mandated law by NHTSA ? or ? month later the maintenance tech forman took it for a test drive and said the same thing . That the noise was created (by a speaker ?) so the vehicle can be heard at low speeds / below 20 mph . I asked where the speaker is , he said he didn't know ! I asked if he could show me it on a diagnostics screen , he again refused . The noise sounds exactly like an electric motor . Mg1 , mg2 ? I can't hear the noise when backing out of a driveway or similar low speed situations ? I need to verify if this is true - is there an actual law that the vehicle has to make a noise ? and it was okayed to use a noise that sounds like the hybrid electric motor or bearing ? even if this is true the computer logic should be changed so that the sound pulses so that it is obviously a speaker and not a mechanical issue . ( like no grease ) and it should always work when it is most needed , backing up and slow driving / all the time under 20 mph . Service department should plug in a diagnostic scanner and prove to me that a speaker is making the noise . * why is this a safety issue ? because if they are lying , eventually ( when it is out of warranty ) this vehicle will break down . Are all 2025 Toyota hybrids making some kind of noise ? and if it is a noise created by a speaker - prove it are all 2025 Camrys making this same noise ? maybe they all have the same mechanical problem ? why wait till there is a crash , fire , or an accident ? as in the next section - additional details . And again if it is a legitimate noise generated for safety . At the least change the computer logic so it pulses and doesn't sound like a bad motor generator bearing . And have the maintenance techs trained to know where the speaker actually is . I don't want to share my personal information with Toyota . If they are lying.

14 Electrical System problem

Failure Date: 03/13/2025

My car battery has died on me 3 times and I just got this car on [xxx]. The aaa technicians that had to come out and give me a jump stated that my battery is no good and that it is not the original Toyota battery. Also, when I try to start my vehicle with the Toyota app. It states that it cannot start because my car is driving, my car is not driving because it is parked. I took my car to frontier Toyota in valencia, CA. Where I purchased this vehicle to have it inspected, and they said that the battery test came back good, but aaa technicians says the battery is bad which I believe because my car has not started on 3 occasions and I had to get a jump. This is very scary especially if this happens when I am traveling and cannot get reception to contact anyone. Information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u. S. C. 552(b)(6).

15 Electrical System problem

Failure Date: 01/30/2025

12 volt battery only charges to 50% of capacity. Dealer says it is normal.

16 Electrical System problem

Failure Date: 12/21/2024

Low oil engine warning comes of day after day, physical oil level is fine but keeps coming on after 2 oil changes dealer claims that it’s a software glitch and Toyota is aware of it. . No fix as of yet also claimed vehicle is drivable…. First came on at 20 miles.

17 Electrical System problem

Failure Date: 11/28/2024

The vehicle has encountered repeated hybrid system and battery-related issues. Symptoms have included stalling, sudden loss of power, hybrid warning messages, charging/battery malfunction warnings, electrical system irregularities, and unsafe driving behavior. The exact root cause is currently unknown. However, based on the recurring issues and vehicle behavior, the concern appears related to the hybrid battery and/or associated electrical systems. The condition has affected the vehicle’s reliability and safe operation.

18 Electrical System problem

Failure Date: 10/10/2024

While driving your 2025 Toyota Camry, I experienced an unintended acceleration and brake failure causing a collision to occur on October 10, 2024 with only around 7000 miles. I was ready to park my vehicle in the garage of my company with very low speed between two vehicles, then it suddenly accelerated on its own and the brakes would not stop the vehicle. My vehicle collided with a wall only around 3 feet before my vehicle. I have concern that this incident resulted from a defect with my vehicle, so I noticed Toyota's dealer and Toyota. I suspect this is a control system failure since this is a new hybrid vehicle. I have heard online that there are several accidents happened for Toyota hybrid vehicles having similar experience: new vehicles with low speed even with foot on the brake. The unintended acceleration under low speed with foot on the brake is a safety issue. However, Toyota did not think this is a vehicle defect after its around two month's investigation.
