Electronic Stability Control Problems of Toyota Camry - part 1

The contact owns a 2015 Toyota Camry. The contact stated while driving 40 mph and attempting to activate the headlights, the vehicle lost motive power with the abs and stabili-trak warning lights illuminated. The vehicle was able to restart; however, the failure recurred. The dealer was not contacted, and the vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 84,256.

Brake actuator failure is too common in this vehicle. Needs to be an open warranty without limitation. This is a safety issue Toyota should be handling. On June 25, 2014, Toyota initiated a warranty enhancement program (ze1) to extend warranty coverage for the brake actuator assembly and skid control ecu/brake pedal stroke sensor in certain my 2007 to 2011 Toyota Camry hybrid vehicles. Toyota's program covers repairs related to two conditions: internal malfunctions of the brake actuator assembly; and overly sensitive monitoring logic for the brake pedal stroke sensor. Melting dash is ridiculous as well. I can only imagine what kind of cancer I will be getting from inhaling the noxious fumes from the melting dash.

Vsc warning appeared on dashboard. Abs warning light and ps light is on too. I had the abs actuator replaced in February 2019 when the vsc warning first appeared. I am having the same issue plus the power steering warning light. Vehicle was parked at the store, when I returned to my car and turned car on, the lights started flashing and will not turn off.

On hwy 65 mph power steering warning light came on then lost power steering and then car died in middle of hwy at 65 mph skidded to a stop. It was very frightening. I was almost hit 3 times by cars trying to steer my way to the side of the road. Car was taken to twin city Toyota and I called Toyota and they told me that it's a recall on other cars but not mine. My Toyota Camry xse 2020 battery was dead. I been driving it for almost 6 weeks and I got stranded today when it didn't turned on. It's been happening to many 2020 models and we need answers and solutions. I do not want to be left stranded again.

Maintenance light was on, car was pulling to the right while driving even after dealership checked it out, tires were worn out, also car made noises on front right passenge side at high speeds and some time shaked from right front passenger side.

While driving on the freeway, the speedometer and all of the gauges stalled out while the car was still running. The car gauges came back on after a few minutes, presently the gauges are taking a longer time to come back on, in addition while the gauges are off the air conditioner goes off as well, when all the gauges come back on the tire pressure light comes on. We are afraid to take the care out of town because when the gauges go off the car is hard to steer. This continues to happen every time car is driven.

Srs warning light and trac control warning light and seat belt warnings for both passenger and driver flashing. I checked online and couldnt figure out the codes. I figured out that this was blowing fuse 29 on the car as soon as the ignition is turned on. I went to the local mechanic shop, ali automotive in santa clara, CA. They read the codes and the faults displayed are the steering angle sensor fault and passenger classification system fault (if I recall correctly). As the air bags are no longer active this is a safety issue. The fault came on while just after turning into parking spot in the parking lot at the corner of lawrence and prospect. The mechanic advised that they need to check the vehicle but it was likely the air bag clockspring is shorting as they've replaced this on a number of cars. Checking online it seems that Toyota has a recall on the air bag clock spring on some models but I didnt see one of the Camry. Also a number of reports online of consumers changing the clocksprings. So this is a fairly common complaint and a safety hazard. Please assist to investigate ASAP. This car is also used by our teenage son and I'd like to ensure that it is safe. Thank you.

Vsc, abs, air lights are on. Makes a peak sound when I start my car. It stays for a long time and goes away. During this time break does not work as normal. Feels hard to press break and unable to stop the car. Yesterday when I'm driving suddenly sound came on and I was unable to stop the car as I normally can. When I try to press the break. Break does not apply.

I have a 2019 Toyota Camry hybrid le which purchased as brand new. After 2-3 months of driving, I noticed that at low speeds and particularly when the road is very flat if the car hits any kind of pothole or bump, there is a grinding noise coming from the front breaks (or maybe the cvt gears engaging for regenerative breaking) and sometimes even the abs light starts shining in the dashboard. This is not easily replicable but it's most likely to happen when slowing down behind a stop sign or red light. At higher speeds or if the breaks are applied with higher force this issue is almost entirely not present. Also, I've not noticed it while the vehicle is turning, it usually only happens when slowing down on a straight and flat road and suddenly one of the tires goes off balance.

I was driving in my 2017 Toyota Camry with 40,000 miles. I was in the vehicle with my three children and we were going to get something to eat. We were traveling on a 4 lane very busy street doing the speed limit of 30 mph. When all of a sudden the car stopped with no warning or anything. The whole system shut down. I panicked because this almost caused a major accident. My radio keeps rebooting and will not click off. When I turn my left turn signal the car shuts down. I am very disappointed in Toyota and their treatment of my concerns. I am afraid to drive the car because it is not safe to drive and puts me and my children in danger.

The abs sensor/module has gone out again. I spent several thousands in repairs and diagnostics years ago for the same issue. Now it has gone crazy again. The dash has been replaced due to being sticky. The car itself burns oil, we are constantly checking and adding to it. It seems several have had these issues and Toyota should be fixing them.

Abs actuator failed for no apparent reason. Many warning lights came on suddenly while normal driving. The lights included slippage, abs, check vsc, and emergency break. The break action response was diminished. This is a known problem to Toyota, and they extended the warranty, but ours is beyond the new extension window. Cost to repair is $1,600.

When you are driving down the road, sometimes the car would either veer to the left or the right and you can't control the steering wheel. You have to stop the car turn the car off and then turn it back on and then start driving again. Sometimes it will also accelerate on its own or not accelerate on its own even if you are controlling the gas pedal the car does what it wants. This is very scary because one time we almost hit a curb with the tires because you couldn't control the car it was going where I wanted to. The tires were out extremely fast I never have to pay for new tires because they wear out way before the warranty there like bald with in like a couple months sometimes even to just two months and they're bald and the alignment spine I've had it checked. I change all the fluids on time and taking care of maintaining the car I don't understand why it's doing this can you please figure it out?.

When driving to work on the freeway the car deployed by its self and would not stop the steering wheel is so loose and I have no controll.

2013 Toyota Camry has no engine shutoff if engine is kept running in enclosed garage1 we both are profound hard of hearing asw ell deaf. All new cars should have automatic engine shut off or we will be killed by carbon monoxide.

The vehicle does a weird clocking noise when acceleration and as I break or go at a lower speed or higher speed the sound is less or more . This starts at a surten speed. Also when the car is on it does the noise like a clicking sounds ive read about the recalls on this models and im concern due to the same info the car are being called for recalls. Mines doing the same noise and problem never had this problem before when going on the freeway or highway now I notice it getting worse recall number -18v200000 also theres a light that indicates the front camara is of and it goes of and on on its own sometimes.

Master control light on, not idling, wont start immediately after pumping gas, cuts of randomly when I stop and malfunction warning light for power steering.

Driving on street approaching an intersection where I was turning left and had a green light when the abs/esc lights on the dash turned on and brakes stopped working. This caused me to roll through the intersection and almost cause an accident. Had to stop by rolling into curb. Found the brakes do work somewhat now but are dangerously weak.

While on the way back from a short trip to California from arizona, our "service engine" warning light became displayed on our dash along with "check vsc system. Car seems like the emergency brake is on but its not. When I drive off it pulls back and hesitates. The seatbelt doesnt always send the signal that iam wearing it which makes the car seat alarm go off. The car wont turn off when I press the button mulitiple times the ac cooling is loud along with the engine sound being also loud.

While driving, my brakes have gone out (as in I have no brakes) several times intermittently. At the same time my (abs, check vsc system) light illuminate and my brake light is always illuminated. I very carefully drove it home and was forced to purchase another vehicle until I can figure out what to fix.

I was backing out of a parking spot. When my car staled and was shaking in reverse. I slammed on my breaks because I thought I backed up into something. When I put my car in drive and took my foot off of the brake pedal. My car immediately accelerated to full speed out of no where and caused me to crash into two cars.

Moving at 70 mph, battery light started to flicker. Then 2 loud bangs, like rocks hitting windshield, speedometer wildly fluctuating, check vsc sys light on instrument cluster briefly lit. No loss of power or control. Battery lite now off. Continued on 3 minutes later repeat, bam bam, check vsc sys, now with red triangle warning, abs light, security, passenger air bag & skid lines flashed on. No problems on return trip, although I was traveling at around 50 mph. I should add that I had problem with battery in Jan 2019. Replaced battery and positive cable. Battery light kept coming on, replaced alternator. Problem with intermittent battery light reoccurred. Mechanic cleaned off positive pole, and problem was solved until today.

Sw, tumwater, wa 98512 (360) 539-3939) was contacted but not further assistance was taken. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and provided the contact with case number:1908201158 but no investigation as of yet was preformed. The failure mileage was approximately 1,942. Ck.

My eps light comes on and off sometime I'm driving and when it does that my radio goes out and wheel hard to steer.

The car seems to run fine but with some dash board lights went to Toyota dealership. They said I have to replace abs actuator assy. . I saw extended warranty for that but no safety recalls. If issues are expected with parts, should not there be safety recalls instead of extending warranties only. Why is Toyota saying there might be parts that might not function properly but will be fixed only the parts fall by certain time. I am worried to drive with dash board lights of brakes, abs and check back system light on. To fix it, I will have to spend $1600 for the part that should have the part of safety recall.

On two occasions, while driving, the engine turned off for approximately 1 or 2 minutes, leading to a loss of control of the vehicle, the brakes and the steering. Then it automatically turned back on, and I could continue driving. On both occasions I was driving at approximately 20kms per hour, and I was making a turn. On the 2nd occasion, the car went uponto the sidewalk and crashed into a tall step that proected the car from going through the display window. I took the car to the agency in cuernavaca, mexico and they ran a scan that indicated that the engine had in fact turned off while going 19kms per hour, but they kept the report and refused to turn it over to me. This is the only 'proof' or supporting information that I would have had.

My boyfriend was driving my 2013 Toyota Camry se on the interstate when out of without warning the abs, brake and traction lights came on; the steering wheel tightened and he could barely get the car to turn onto the on ramp to get off at the next exit. I spoke with Toyota about the recall on the 2013 vehicles for the air conditioning condenser and was told that my vehicle was included in that problem. However the car was repaired for that recall in 2014, which was prior to me owning the car. After, the car has been repair under a recall, there's a one year warranty on that repair. So we're basically out of luck and have to pay for this repair ourselves.

The brake lights systems and abs lights comes out as I start the car and all gauges stop working, the ac don't work when this happens. I can't tell how fast im going because the speedometer gauge failed to provide the correct reading, the abs control module and emergency warning indicator illuminates on the screen. This happens while I am driving, it does ramdonly and now is more frecuently.

The car applied the brakes very hard while traveling down a major thoroughfare with no objects or other vehicles nearby. I was running around 50mph and the collision avoidance activated and the car slowed to nearly 20mph.

Sirius xm radio has a radio device for cars that do not have a built in xm radio. The problem is that it comes with a 20 foot cord. It is meant to be placed on the dashboard. The cord goes through the car and is placed on top of the car. My cord got stuck in my steering wheel and snapped the clock spring. This is a very serious problem as all my capabilities were restricted. My horn, airbag and controls were not operable. This was because the clock spring got severed. It is a severe safety hazard. The vehicle was in motion.
