My wife and I were driving our 2008 Toyota Camry Hybrid on cary parkway in cary, nc. I was at the wheel and coasting with no foot on the gas or brake and noticed the engine accelerating slightly. It was not a scary situation because the road was open in front of me and the speed was not fast but I could tell the engine was not coasting and slowing down as expected and I told my wife. I tapped the gas pedal and then the car started to coast and slow as expected. It has never happened again and I know if I reported it to my dealer they would tell me that they could not find anything wrong so I haven't bothered. It felt like the throttle was mechanically stuck. I should mention that this car had a defective weld in the right front and when the car was new and started creaking, the dealer had it taken to a body shop and a bad weld under the right front fender was repaired.
