1 Navigational (global Positioning System) Gps problem of the 2018 Toyota Camry Hybrid

Failure Date: 06/09/2019

I contacted Toyota regarding a problem with my scoutlink gps. I was driving to new york and the gps suddenly stopped working. The display showed the car to the right of the path then to the left then back again, then told me to make a turn. I was going at a high rate of speed as you do on the turnpikes and parkways. There was no way for me to safely stop to troubleshoot the scoutlink. It takes a great deal of coordination to even hook it up, but then for it to stop working when you are in congested hi speed traffic is a safety issue for me and my family as well as others on the highway. Luckily the passenger was able to get google maps on the phone to safely guide us to our destination. When I reported the issue to Toyota they suggested I go to the dealership. The dealership agreed there was a problem, and if I had an apple phone, they had a solution. But alas I have an android, so they tried to get me to trade in my car with a 2019, that has a different system in it. . . . . A working gps I hope! they wanted me to pay an additional $14,000. Not a safety issue, but certainly not ethical from my viewpoint. I then reported the issue to telenav, they produce the scoutlink gps. They told me I needed to talk with Toyota. I explained I was there already, my software was up-to-date and they could not figure out the problem and the only solution was to purchase a new car or at my expense install an after market system. . Telenav told me he could not help and has closed the case file. I just think someone should be aware of the safety issue involved here and how Toyota is not standing behind its product or its customer. I purchased a garmin. I was unable to attach mp4 videos.

3 Navigational (global Positioning System) Gps problem of the 2007 Toyota Camry Hybrid

Failure Date: 06/07/2013

I recently purchased a '07 Toyota camry from my mother. It still has warranty. I haven't taken it in yet, but the dashboard is melting. I was in an underground parking deck away from home. I was putting an address into my gps while resting one of my fingers on the dashboard while I typed. I went to remove my finger and realized that my fingernail was stuck in the dashboard. A couple of days later I was loading some thin bamboo stalks (less than 1/4 inch thick) and they gouged holes my dashboard. I am very sad. I wanted to see if anyone else had this problem. . . . . Apparently so. . . And some sound much worse than mine. I hope they will fix this.

5 Navigational (global Positioning System) Gps problem of the 2013 Toyota Camry Hybrid

Failure Date: 04/02/2012

The standard navigation system has a design flaw. The tip of the arrow shows you at about 150 to 200 feet further down the road then you actually are. This results in a turn alert sound that typically goes off when you are in the intersection, resulting in a sharp turn. Do to the late sound/alert I, over the past year, have had been almost rear ended 3 times. Normal designs show you where you actually are and the alarm sound to make a turn usually is about 100 feet before the turn.
