Original manufactured equipment on a 1999, Toyota, Celica ,tire size p20555r15. While driving 65 mph on the highway tread completely separated from sidewall. No collision and no injuries. Consumer states that the goodyear eagle gt tire tread on the left rear launched 50 feet onto the highway and all that remained were the two sidewalls.

3 Tire Tread/belt problem of the 1997 Toyota Celica

Failure Date: 09/21/2000

While driving on interstate at approximately 65 mph right front tire tread had separated from the tire. Tire was a continental gt8000, touring, p205/55r15. Tire was a replacement tire purchased at a private owned tire dealership. Tire's mileage was 27,000. Consumer stated another tire experienced tread separation and the other tires have cracked sidewalls, vehicle sustained damage due to faulty tire. .

Consumer states tread on tires is very unstable and rocky, vehicle constantly pulls to the right or left even after a wheel alignement, vehicle shakes unconrollably at 80 mph, and there is no pick up when the gas pedal is floored, consumer has complained to dealership and no one is able to remedy the problem.
