Complaint against ben nielsen skyline automotive – faulty repairs & lack of response I am filing a complaint regarding incomplete and faulty repairs performed on my household’s 2005 Toyota Corolla ce at ben nielsen skyline automotive on November 22, 2024 (invoice #1 attached) and January 3, 2025 (invoice #2 attached). During my first visit, the mechanic identified an oil leak, added dye to locate the source, and instructed me to return after 100 miles for further repairs. I followed these instructions and returned on January 3, 2025, when the shop also adjusted the tie rod and installed new rear brakes. At the time, I trusted that the work had been completed to a professional standard and that my vehicle was safe to drive. However, during a visit to shirlington shell on February 22, 2025, for an unrelated inspection (invoice #3 attached), their mechanic raised serious concerns about the quality of repairs done by ben nielsen skyline automotive: - the tie rod adjustment was not completed properly, which the second mechanic stated made the car potentially unsafe to drive (video evidence available upon request). - the fluid leak was not fully resolved. - the rear brakes installed by ben nielsen skyline automotive are making noise, suggesting they were not installed correctly. These issues indicate that the repairs I paid for were either incomplete or improperly performed, leading to safety concerns and additional costs to diagnose and correct the problems. After discovering these faults, I made multiple attempts to contact ben nielsen skyline automotive via phone and email to request a resolution, including a full reimbursement for the tie rod adjustment, fluid leak repair, and rear brake installation. Unfortunately, my email messages and calls have gone unanswered, leaving me no choice but to escalate this matter.
As I was pulling into a parking lot I began to step on the brakes and the car would not stop. I had no choice but to crash into a wall causing a major injuries to my body and car. The car would no longer start and I had to tow the car to my home until a mechanic came to start the car and we had noticed that when the car is in park it will keep going.
It lost power while on hwy driving at appx. 75 mph.
Takata racall airbag.
In September 2013 I had my car inspected by my mechanic and it passed inspection. Then in December 2013 I needed an oil change. My mechanic suggested I winterize it, so I did. He did the following: changed oil and filter, lube chasis, flush radiator, added new antifreeze, rotated tires, checked brakes, dax cool; cabin filter: removed old cabin filter, cleaned out air box and installed new filter; fuel injector clean: cleaned and flushed injector system; belt - removed and replaced listed belts, adjusted tension; battery - checked charging and staring system, installed new battery and cleaned cable ends. I dont know if it was because of what was done above but periodically my car would not stop immediately at a red light it skidded a little. Then eventually my car would speed up on its own so I would have to brake and then drive at a really low speed. Then on April 2, 2014 I took my car back to my mechanic and he checked 4 wheel brake and hydraulic system, cleaned and adjusted brakes, toped off fluid. Every time I did bring my car into the mechanic they would road test it and tell me the car is now drivable. However, when I would drive the car it felt as if I had to no control over the car. Saturday, April 5, 2014 I took it over to Toyota and they did a general inspection, they told me the battery is fine, they also did an oil change, afix sticker and reset maintenance reminder. They test drove as well and told me everything is fine. However, as I drove this past month I felt as if I had no control over the car. My foot was not really on the gas pedal. Before the winterized I would drive all over town and would put my foot on the gas at the level I wanted it to go. Now I do not put any real pressure on the gas pedal and the car seems to go on its own.
The car pops out the 6th gear. It is also harsh when shifting gears, brakes have noise, air bags sign off. The car has shut off while driving and front suspension sounds horrible.
The contact owns a 2005 Toyota Corolla. The contact stated that when depressing the brake at 50 mph or above, the vehicle would shake violently. The vehicle was taken to a dealer but they were unable to diagnose the failure. The vehicle was then taken to an independent mechanic where they advised that there were no failures found within the brakes and had at least ten months of use before needing replacement. The manufacturer was contacted and they offered no assistance. The failure mileage was approximately 74,000.
Coming to a stop while applying the brakes, I first felt resistance from the brake pedal then nothing. At the same time, the car began to accelerate without stepping on the gas pedal. This happened twice in a 10 day period.
I was driving on the interstate at around 65 mph. They were closing the right lane for road work, leading everyone to merge into one lane. I applied my brakes and they locked up. As I was moving forward and slowing down as everyone was slowing because of the merging (however, this wasn't happening smoothly, as I was skidding instead of simply decelerating), I was rear ended by a car traveling at full speed (approx 65 mph). The force of the impact hit me into grass median on the left side of the highway. While stopped for mere seconds, I had not even put the car into park yet, my car started rolling down the median's embankment, through the woods while my foot was still on the brake. I kept pressing the brake and it was not responding. I hit a tree after rolling approx 100 feet into the woods. A Toyota dealer is currently doing the repairs, and told me that the brakes were in fact working when driving it around the shop at slow speeds. I feel like no one believes me, nor is even offering an explanation on how this could even happen.
2005 Corolla le purchased in sept 2005. Was going home today from work. I was driving slow (thx god) because of traffic. When I tried to slow down when seeing a car in front on me, the brakes won't respond. I pushed the brakes couple times but it won't slow down. So I rear ended a truck. My car front end is in pretty bad shape but since it wasn't at a high speed the frame seems to be ok. Of course the truck infront of me barely has a scratch.
2005 Toyota Corolla l. S. I have been informing at least 3 dealers that the brakes seem problematic. The squeaking' was continuous since purchase, and after service[s] now the squeaking stopped, yet excessive brake dust comes on the front hubcaps. When I tell Toyota about it . . . They said, well you have rebuilt brakes. ? not so. . . Never did that to this car. ? [xxx] information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u. S. C. 552(b)(6).
I was driving from santa maria to my job in lompoc California when my accelerator jumped and speeded up to 85mph I applied my brakes but nothing seems to work I lost control of my vehicle and I started spinning and right before the car was about to go off the freeway I managed to get control of the car back and come to a stop, I was terrified I thought I was going to die. It was upsetting to see how my accelerator just was out of control. I was so afraid after the accident that I took my car to the Toyota dealership where they checked it and the mechanics couldn't find any problems. I don't trust my car's accelerator anymore after that horrifying incident I think Toyota should do something to solve this huge life threatening problem I could have lost my life.
I have 2005 Toyota Corolla s. The brake of that car does not work sufficient during cold specially lower than 20of temperature. One day it was totally failed the brake and I could not stop the car. Fortunately speed was around 20 mph, so I escaped from an accident. I was push the brake pedal fully several times but it was not work on that moment. I felt normal pressure without any extra hardness. After that it was work again. I think this is the problem of manufacturer. By the by, I am living in columbia, missouri. Would you please take care of this problem with manufacturer for better safety.
I have a 2005 Corolla and when I brake while going over a bumpy area of the road my brakes make a shaking, metallic, rattling noise. When this occurs, I do not have brakes until I have passed over that poor section of the road.
When I speeded up and pressed gas from 30 to 55 mile per hour at the freeway, I found the car in front of me suddenly slowed down. I was at 55 mile per hour when I found it and tried to press the brake hardly. However, the brake couldn't be pressed hardly and the car could not be stopped as soon as possible. The car slowed down slowly and hit the car in front of me, even though I tried to press the brake hardly. The brake didn't work well when the car is in the process of speeding up from low speed to high speed at the freeway.
The contact owned a 2005 Toyota Corolla. While traveling at speeds of 65 mph in light rain, the contact attempted to depress the brake pedal; however, the vehicle would not respond. The vehicle proceeded to crash into an unknown object and continued to rollover. The police arrived and a police report was filed. The vehicle was towed to a repair shop. The vehicle was destroyed. The failure mileage was 105,000. Updated 05/11/10.
I owned a 2005 Toyota Corolla it was wrecked in may of 2009 the steering and brakes locked up on the car I told my insurance company what happened but they did not check into it . I have called the Toyota company and they told me to write a letter I also have spoken with several attorneys. I as of right now have no other way of transportation because the insurance company did not pay the car off completely.
I just purchased my 2005 Corolla 3 months prior to this incident and it was a fairly new car but it had the check engine light on with in the first month I had it. On the day of the incident the weather nice and pleasant & I was soberly driving home from nursing school in san jose along in the middle lane of a 3 lane street at the legal speed limit of 35 miles an hour. About 600 feet ahead there was a yellowing stoplight and two cars slowing down nearing the stoplight. I put on the brakes normally as I thought there was plenty of space to come to a stop however it felt like instead of slowing the car suprisingly sped up and instantly I was smelling gunpowder after a sharp painful jarring smack. The airbags had deployed and was a ripped up mess from my steering wheel. I hit the car in front of me and was so dazed and shocked and my wrist had shattered requiring reparative surgery and rehabilitation however it's still not ok. Due to my confusion I denied medical treatment until a few days later. This confusion still affects me badly now as I suffer from severe ptsd. The police took pictures and a report. The people in the car I hit were taken by ambulance. & recommended I be taken as well but I refused. The car had been totaled with severe body damage to the front and a bent frame that it was able to drive from the scene. I was terrified that somebody either tampered with my car and brakes or either I was clinically insane to make it illogically speed up & it wasn't until I learned of the recalls only a few days ago that I realized maybe the accident wasn't all my fault & I should report it here. Toyota corporation has done nothing to send me notifications of any recalls or problems ever.
I was driving my 2005 Toyota Corolla when it went out of control and didnt want to stop. I was unable to stop the car when applying the brakes. I crashed into a walgreens store. The car was towed to an auto body shop and repaired. The insurance company wanted to have the car inspected by Toyota, for defects, however I was told I would have to pay for the towing and the inspection . I declined.
I have a Toyota Corolla 2005 model purchased in oct. 2004. I was going to work one morning, pulling into the parking garage, I coasted up the incline til I slowed, tapped the accelerator to give it a push, and the car surged forward, not just a little, a lot! I tried to stop but only went faster, smashing into the concrete wall ahead of me, too fast to make the turn. My cars front end sustained 5000. 00 in damages, undrivable. Was in the shop for over a month. I was apprehensive about driving for a long time, only parked on the street with plenty of room. The accelerator still surges, but I've acclimated to the handling of the car to avoid other accidents, still a couple of times have been close. Anyway, this was mentioned to my service dept at Toyota and was told there were no reports of problems of this nature, that was in 2006.
I have the air bag ligths on all the time, the time I turn on the car and driving it, it just do not go away on parking iether,8ever since I buy the car the dealers said it will go away as I drive it, it never did, it is not stable at all every time I brake whyle driving it goes foward like it did not stop but it did. It is in some way unbalace at every stop. But they said this is how it is since I boug it. Now I try to check on recalls and for some reason this bin # does not appear to be valid or reconnisable by the safety dep. Why? why? why? they do not want to fix it? or what is going on?.
Vehicle would not stop while traveling at 20 mph. Consumer placed her foot onto the brakes to stop the vehicle and it accelerated. Consumer contacted manufacturer, and they had not response.
