When needing to accelerate the car takes off like a jet rocket when the pedal is pressed. The car seems to be out of control and shaking violently. This happens usually on highway when going above 50. Feels very unsafe. This is a used car I bought. This happens on a regular basis.
Transmission is shifting very hard into second gear, particularly when the car is warm and has been running about 20 minutes. The shop reported pressure readings inside of transmission are high and recommended a full replacement.
Car is sputtering and hesitates when driving at low speeds, it does it intermittently. This is a safety concern. I took it to Toyota dealership and called headquarters and they have not been able to resolve this major problem. They are overlooking the problem. Apparently this is an ongoing problem with Toyota cars and they haven't done anything about it.

After I turned around the corner of etna st /derby st. In berkeley, the steering suddenly malfunctioned and the car veered to the roadside and hit a parked car. I tried to brake immediately. The impact was slight, but my car could not be moved any more. I called the police and the roadside assistance of my insurance company. The person from the roadside assistance told me that the steering mechanism broke and the front axle fell out. On the day following the incident, I reported it to Toyota cooperation and am currently waiting for their response.
2010 Toyota Corolla the transmission will surge when trying to pass on the highway. When driving and trying to pass another vehicle there is a minor delay when the transmission shifts causing a jolt and fast acceleration. Also at low speeds coming up to a light and then it turns green but not fully stopped maybe 15 miles an hour the transmission will also surge. This seems like an ongoing problem and Toyota wants to do nothing about it this is ridiculous a car with 62,000 miles has this problem this needs to be recalled ASAP.
There was no wreck, my horn does not work dash lights stay on lighter acts like thers a short and the electrical in consoul doesnt work.
Check engine and vsc lights blinking. Hangs up in third gear. Had code pulled. Shift sylenoid closed. This seems to be an ongoing problem with these cars. Dealerships just give you the runaround. Problem is caused by the failing ecu. This has been going on for years and no recall. This is not only a headache to drive but also unsafe.
I took my 2010 Toyota Corolla s in for service on 9/26/14 at victory Toyota of canton, mi 48188 for a regular service. All service has been completed at victory Toyota of canton, mi 48188 since I purchase the brand new vehicle from them. The service representative informed me that my car had a timing cover leak that was to cost me approximately $1,300. 00 to fix and that if I continued to drive it the leak would get worse. I am out of my two year warranty time period. The service representative told me that my car was the 6th they'd seen in the last two weeks with the same issue and one of them was even as low as $18,000 miles. He stated that at some point there would probably be a recall. I called Toyota headquarters and opened case number 1409260301 and wait to hear what their solution is. I advised that anything less than full repair by Toyota at no charge to me would be unacceptable. Such an issue should not potentially happen in a vehicle until 100,000 to 110, 000 miles. The fact that the service rep said that my car was the 6th they'd seen in the lat two weeks is a serious red flag.
I was driving my car down the highway going about 60mph and all of a sudden lost all engine power, with no warning, stutter, jolt or any sort of noise. I managed to coast to the shoulder but could not get my car to turn over and had to tow it away. Obd code reader would not connect with on board computer. When cranking the engine there was no spark to the coils.

As I was driving on hwy, I suddenly lost my power stearing and I had power stearing light, vsc and slippery car light cam on. From that point on I didnt have power stearing, it was difficult to drive since it was hard to turn. Thank god that I didnt get invovle in wreck. When I took it momentum Toyota dealer in tulsa and explaned what happend, serivse advisor said that since it has almost 45,000 it is not covered under warrenty. When I called to Toyota customer service and express my safety concern, they said if it is concern that I need to get it fixed and pay out of pocket since it has about 45000 miles on it. I had my 2010 Toyota Corolla in park and running to cool the car's interior with the air condition on. I was outside the vehicle. I decided to turn the car off ( I was standing on the passenger side and reached in and turned the key off. Instantly my car went into a roll. I jumped in and hit the brake and stopped the car (setting the emergency brake) the gear shift was still in the park position. After I calmed down I restarted the vehicle put it in reverse and backed the car into the driveway again. I contacted my local dealer and they seemed to not believe me but set up an appointment to bring it in, in 4 days.

Information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u. S. C. 552(b)(6) this is additional information . I filed a prior incident report and had another occurrence on Feb 28 2010. Again my vehicle had a sudden acceleration and leaped forward. Again I was able to place it in neutral . This is a dangerous problem. I have taken it back to my local dealership only to be told, it was the floor mat. When it happened again (after I took out the mat I was told it may have been I hit the cruise control(even though I explained I hit the brake and the vehicle maintained its acceleration. ) this dealership even has told other customers that have called in they have not had one complaint about this problem( I was standing by the service desk when this took place). Toyota will not admit there is a problem and in fact has spent more effort to make me feel its my fault or I am mistaken. What is the government going to do to address this problem ? it appears Toyota is in denial because the fix will cost to much. How many more people will die or get injured? I am requesting and hope others are requesting that the highway safety administration take a stronger action . This has gone on to long without something being done. Please help. [xxx].
