1 Steering Is Tight problem

Failure Date: 09/02/2019

My car's steering wheel for the past couple of days has been so stiff and hard to maneuver. I went to work fine but as I was about to leave work, I turned the car on, seems like the start was weak, as I backed up 2 feet, the steering wheel was so hard to maneuver. I went to park my car back to where it was from, turned off the engine, then all I hear was a clicking sound, engine won't start. Coworkers jumped the car, it started, took it to advance for diagnosis, they didn't find anything wrong on the alternator or battery (both less than 2 years old). The car ran like nothing was wrong. Went to work driving the car the following day. It was fine, until I have to leave work again. The same thing happened!!! car's on park, started the car, backed up, turned the wheels, it was stiff and it seemed to have locked, coworkers jump started it, drove home but the steering wheel was acting weird. I made it home. Husband drove the car a blocks from the house to see it for himself then while driving back he mentioned that the steering wheel started get sooooo hard and stiff. It was not safe for me to drive the car. This needs to be investigated.

3 Steering Is Tight problem

2010 Corolla s steering is very hard to control. Car seems to wonder all over the road. Steering seems to be way to responsive!.

4 Steering Is Tight problem

Failure Date: 01/22/2010

I have a 2010 Corolla and until I spoke to another owner I thought this problem may have been me. It seems to me the steering is jumpy or hard to hold a line. I can be driving down the road in what I would call a straight line and the car will sometime jump to the right or left but yet I never moved the wheel. My wife actually thought at one time I was swerving on purpose.

5 Steering Is Tight problem

Failure Date: 12/08/2009

I purchased a new 2010 Toyota Corolla from autoway Toyota in saint petersburg for my wife on 12/06/09. We were stressed out after hours of haggling and high pressure from the salesmen. The next day when I drove the car more (with only 40 miles on it) I noticed that the steering was hard to handle. It wandered. I found that I have to keep 2 hands on the wheel and eyes wide as it is unpredictable. In around 6 or 7 days I was back at autoway trying for hours to get them to take it back and sell me a camry for more money!! the Corolla had only 85 miles on it. But they said it had been titled, so they wanted to buy it back for a $3000+ loss to us, and then make money on the sale of another vehicle (which is the ways of the car dealer). We are stuck. So, if asked, I would testify in court that the steering in this car could cause an accident. The odds are much higher with this steering system, that someone could be hurt or killed. A car with only 40 miles on it and you notice a problem like this? imagine when it has 100,000 miles and worn tires! I have always loved Toyota, until this. It makes me sick every time I drive it, and make the payment! I told my family, friends, and autoway 2 months before todays news about the steering problem broke!! any way I can help with this problem(especially if they(autoway/ and Toyota) will take the car back, I will! call me to testify. .

6 Steering Is Tight problem

Failure Date: 08/25/2009

The contact owns a 2010 Toyota Corolla. The contact stated that the steering wheel was hard to control. While driving 60 mph the steering wheel became difficult to control. He had to pull the steering wheel back and forth in order for it to continue driving in a straight line. He took the vehicle to the dealer who stated that the tow end alignment was a little off. The dealer aligned the vehicle; however, the failure was not corrected. The failure mileage was 7,500. The current mileage was 79,000.
