Air bag light came on dashboard as well as passenger seat belt light continuously beeping to buckle seat belt. Dealer was unable to identify the problem. They replaced multiple parts and issue came back after 4 months. Dealer now is claiming that air bag inflator is the issue. Recalled parts were replaced previously. Dealer does not seem to be 100% certain what the issue is and is replacing parts at customer's expense.

Takata recall. I want to know if and when my airbag inflator will be recalled. I live in new jersey, and it gets pretty hot and humid here in the summer, and cool and humid in the winter. The information provided by NHTSA and the press suggests I face the risk of a faulty exploding airbag. It seems that the recall is gambling with the odds that there is less chance of an explosion outside pr, FL, the gulf states, nc and CA. I do not like facing this risk and think NHTSA should order takata and Toyota to replace my airbag inflator with safe equipment. Please let me know what you will do to provide me and all the other car owners facing this risk with a remedy. This risk is, after all, the result of intentional violations by takata and others. I just learned of this risk today in the press. Thank you.

I have been trying to get my airbag replaced ever since the initial recall was issued in January 2017. It is now almost 10 months later, and Toyota is still unable to fix the issue. The current status (as of October 25th, 2017) "Toyota is currently preparing the remedy for this condition and will provide additional information as it becomes available. The remedy, when available, will consist of the replacement of the airbag inflator or the airbag assembly, depending on the vehicle model. " is this ever going to get fixed?.

6 Front Driver Side Air Bag Inflator problem

Failure Date: 10/20/2017

Takata recall- a takata airbag inflator safety recall for my vehicle has been issued and the remedy is currently being prepared. After contacting my local dealership [Toyota of tampa bay] I was informed that the best estimate for when information about the remedy for my vehicle will be available is December 2017. The recall states that the airbag inflators are faulty and capable of rupturing and causing metal fragments to pass through the airbag cushion material and strike occupants. The shrapnel could cause serious injury or death. My vehicle has been in florida where I reside since I purchased the car and there has been exposure to moisture in the environment and fluctuating high temperatures. I drive this vehicle regularly to transport my family and I fear that in the event of an accident my family and I will not be a) protected from the airbags installed and b) [we] are at risk for being injured by the airbags.

7 Front Driver Side Air Bag Inflator problem

Failure Date: 06/24/2017

Takata recall months ago I was informed passenger airbag inflators may degrade after prolonged exposure to high humidity and fluctuating high temperatures, and metal fragments could pass through the airbag cushion material, striking the vehicle occupants, and result in serious injury or death. While I appreciate that Toyota has informed me they are working on a remedy, I am unable to safely transport anyone, be it my girlfriend, friends, or family, as a result of the poor manufacturing and planning of this company. I am frustrated, as high humidity and fluctuating high temperatures are not new to the planet, or to car manufacturing, and I need a replacement ASAP. I live in FL and have no interest in trying to rectify a fatality as a result of an untimely correction of Toyota's own error. Toyota's website says to check NHTSA's website if I feel the remedy is not in a reasonable timeframe. I feel that several months is reasonable, and I'm ready for a call or letter to come in and get this taken care of. I purchased this vehicle from this manufacturer with safety and reliability as my top concern, and I need you to please hold them accountable for their promises. "reasonable timeframe" is not defined, not even by a range.

8 Front Driver Side Air Bag Inflator problem

Failure Date: 05/01/2017

Takata inflators. Toyota sent a notice about the recall months ago (and I'm sure knew about it for even longer than that). They have not made any repairs. The notice they sent suggests not using the front passenger seat which is completely impractical and impossible for us and, I imagine, most other people who own a car that is subject to recall. Also, if the airbags are problematic, then it must also be dangerous for the driver to continue using the car. Toyota needs to fix these airbags immediately.

Takata recall we received an airbag recall early spring of 2017 around March and we have contacted our local Toyota dealership to see when we could take the vehicle in for repairs and have been told that they would contact us when the new inflators would be in stock to do the repairs. It is now August 10 2017 and we still have not heard from them. 15 Front Driver Side Air Bag Inflator problem

Failure Date: 03/01/2017

Takata recall - after I called the dealership and looked on the website there will be no remedy until Dec. 2017. So, I am not able to fully use my vehicle, but more importantly the airbag issue is dangerous for me as the driver, if the passenger airbag deploys. The mental fragments can fly and hit me or anyone in my back sit! this is a6 from the recall website part of the answer-further, NHTSA has concluded that the non-desiccated frontal takata airbag inflators do not pose an unreasonable risk to safety until they reach a certain level of propellant degradation, which is the result of time, temperature and environmental moisture, which depends on the vehicle's location. -how is Toyota 100% confident that this airbag will not deploy when someone is not sitting in the front seat? - there is unknown risk involved according to a6. -how can they guarantee fragments will not go flying and potential harm me or a passenger in the back seat ? I drive my car to work almost 2 to 3 times a week that is an hour and 15mins away and I do not feel comfortable driving this car and waiting until Dec for a remedy and I am paying for a car that I don't have a full usage of!! I think it is unreasonable and not safe to wait until then!.

Failure Date: 01/09/2017

Takata recall. I received a recall letter in January explaining that I need my front passenger airbag inflator (zone a) to be replaced. It is now may and there is still not a solution. I am writing this complaint because the dealer or Toyota has failed to remedy the defect within a reasonable about of time. I have gone five months without allowing someone in my front seat and that is an absolutely ridiculous amount of time. This solution needs to be fixed or a continuous update about the matter is needed.

23 Front Driver Side Air Bag Inflator problem

Failure Date: 01/01/2017

Takata recall - Toyota announced this recall in January 2017. I received a notification at that time informing me that another notification would be sent to me when the remedy becomes available. The remedy is to replace my airbag inflator or my airbag assembly, depending on my vehicle, at no charge to me. It is now September 2017 and I haven't received any additional information. This is terrible customer service on behalf of Toyota. I expect a replacement of the affected airbag or monetary compensation based on the risk this poses to the passengers that ride in my vehicle.
