The contact owns a 2012 Toyota Corolla. The contact stated that while driving, the air bag warning light illuminated intermittently. The vehicle was taken to the dealer two times within a year. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer (vancouver Toyota, 10455 ne 53rd st, vancouver, wa, 98662) to be diagnosed however, the failure was not able to be determined. The manufacturer was contacted and made aware of the failure and no additional assistance was offered. The failure mileage was approximately 50,000.
Takata recall. The contact owns a 2012 Toyota Corolla. The contact received notification of NHTSA campaign number: 17v006000 (air bags) however, the parts to do the repair were unavailable. The contact stated that the manufacturer exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The contact called al hendrickson Toyota located at 5201 w sample rd, coconut creek, FL 33073 (954) 972-1100 where it was confirmed that the parts were not available for the recall remedy. The contact stated that a plastic strip was sticking out of the passenger side air bag and that the front passenger side air bag warning light illuminated indicating air bag was off while the seat was occupied and the driver's side air bag illuminated indicating off while the seat was occupied. The manufacturer was notified of the issue and it was confirmed that the parts would become available at the end of the year. The contact was offered a loaner vehicle. The failure mileage was not available.
