I purchased this vehicle in November 2024 from a dealership. On July 8, 2025, I was involved in a crash where the airbag failed to deploy. After the accident, I learned there was an active recall from 2020 (NHTSA recall no. 20v024) related to the airbag control system. The recall had not been repaired, and I was never informed of it when I bought the car. This defect may have worsened my injuries and left me completely unprotected during the crash.

My driver side seat belt sometimes becomes unbuckled, disconnected while driving, specially when I make turns, or when I slow down my driving speed. This is very dangerous because it is putting my life at risk in case of an accident.

I was in a car accident . A woman failed to yield at a stop sign and rammed into the front of my car at a high accelerated speed. I was restrained but the right side of my forehead hit the rearview mirror . Causing two huge knots on my head. My eye glasses also smashed into my right eye and I had a cut above my eye . I was thrown to the right passenger seat area , my right hip hit the gear shift and my knees and hip , were bruised. Apparently the seatbelt failed as well , but my main complaint is that the airbags failed to deploy. I suffered damage strain and bruising to both hands, the left was worse , I was made to wear a brace . I was taken to the er via ambulance . One of the officers assumed I wasn’t wearing a seatbelt , which was not true at all . He thought I hit the windshield but I did not , it was the mirror . I have proof , photos and all emt and er records report that I was restrained . A paramedic helped me remove the seatbelt to exit my car . I feel I wouldn't have suffered the head, eye and other injuries if the airbag had deployed.

I placed my laptop bag, which weighs less than 15 lbs. , on the passenger seat. Despite this, the seatbelt warning system continues to alert me about the seatbelt not being worn. The passenger seat should be able to detect when a human passenger is present. Unfortunately, I have to buckle the seatbelt to turn off the warning light and chime, even though there is no human passenger or item weighing more than 15 lbs.
At 4 years and 1/2 old car 2020 Corolla xse an engine maintenance required see dealer light turned on. Did diagnostic with obd 2 scanner at two locations auto body shop and uto zone. Nothing appears. It is in fact a needed future recall since thousands if not more people have encountered the same. It is a coolant by pass valbe. Cost is only $99. 53 + tax at dealer. Problem is that should be under warranty or extended warranty or recall. Dealer likes to charge $800 (180-200 for diagnostic, $110 part, $400 labor. Part only takes 30 minutes to install. I should be able to buy at dealer for $110 and have them install for free or pay 30 minutes of work time = $85. 1 hour is about $175. So instead of trying to be billed $800 I should only be billed for $85 labor (30 minutes) + $110 part = brand total of $105 usd. My daughter emily escobar and I, ernesto escobar (dad) bought the car at longo Toyota el monte, CA 91731.

Vehicle has numerous electrical/mechanical issues that seem to stem from an autonomous learning remote sensor. The problems include, but are not limited to 1. Seatbelt sticking on driver’s side, problem resolves itself, possibly after someone has had a good chuckle on satellite watching the driver struggle to disengage the safely belt, 2. Trunk remotely popped at speeds ranging from 0 (park) to 70mph on highway, 3. Ignition light on and off, usually correctible by disengaging and reengaging battery lead, 4. Car shutoff and burglar alarm engaged while in park, again , correctible by disengaging and engaging battery lead, 5. Car gas gauge reading false on the light side ( less than e), then after disengaging and engaging battery lead, reverts back to 1/4 tank, 6. Clock time changed, presumably after vehicle shutoff and restarted in the middle of the night. Clock reset via auto computer, etc. All incidents are usually corrected by disengaging and engaging the battery lead, after a brief pause to reset the vehicle’s ecu.
Air bags did not go off during the crash and the seats belt tensioner didn't lock up the seat belt resulting in injury to my self. Radio keeps rebooting.
Unknown.
The airbags didn't work and the other information unknown.

So I jumped out ambulance and cops showed up. My car got towed to clifton collision in clifton texas. Later I found out that the air bags should have deployed . All my seat belts are locked up in the front and back. But no air bag deployment. The air bag light is on. After 4 months of my vehicle in the shop with me making payments and insurance payments still no vehicle back for me. My car sits at Toyota in waco. Jeff hunter Toyota waiting on emcu for the air bags with no eta. All the seatbelts had to be cut out of the car and the air bags replaced. I have called Toyota advocate to try to resolve my problem and still no help from them. This is a major safety concern that could take someone’s life.

I have repaired all the safety recalls on my 2004 Toyota Corolla s. However, I just had another warning signal for the seatbelt/airbag today. Since this has been a recall previously, can I have the dealer look at the car and repair again? I wouldn't think the airbags/seatbelt warning would come back so fast after being repaired for the recall. Please advise. Thank you.

Car hydroplaned and spun out. It collided with a cement barrier on the front, back, and drivers side. Car was deemed a total loss. No airbags deployed at any point. Drivers safety put at risk as she hit her head on the driver's side door. Car displayed the message "abs system malfunctioned" once car came to stand still. Also, daughters car seat detached from the seat belt lock, sending her car seat sideways. Locks did not keep her secure.
Seat belts front driver side: seat belt buckle won't engage and fails to go in for multiple attempts and has to be slammed into the seat belt to actually work. Front passenger side: seat belt buckle will not disengage when the button is pressed and has to be squished down as hard as a average man can do, my girlfriend doesn't have enough strength to press it down. I fear that if I get into an accident that the driver side wont be secured all the way and the passenger side will fail to disengage and cause my passengers to get stuck in the car body front driver side: the bumper in the front driver side continuously pops out, car has not been in an accident nor has anything collided with the front, I fear that it can go into the wheel well and cause my car to crash. The car is quiet low in the front but barely scrapes when you go over a big dip, but I have watched my buddys do this and their bumpers dont fall out.
I have brought my car to Toyota of new orleans (the same place I bought it) regarding an issue where if my kids are in the backseat unbuckled the seat belt alert does not ring to indicate that the seatbelts are not hooked also if I undo the seatbelt while driving it does not alert either. Also, when I am driving and nobody is in the backseat, and nothing is on the seats etc. The seat belt alert will begin to ring. I have record this on my phone and showed Toyota they have checked my care twice and I let if at the dealership for 3 days and they cannot duplicate the problem I explained it happens at different times however they said they see the video but can't get it to do it at the shop. So now I am stuck with a car that is a safety concern for me and my children.

My seat belt has to be messed around with a lot in order to release my seat belt. I have to press at least 3 to 4 times super hard before my seat belt releases.

The airbag light on the passenger side of the car started blinking red when the car is off, when the car is on the light says the airbag is off. I took it to the Toyota dealer like I was recommended to do after checking the recall website. Auto nation Toyota at 12111 gulf freeway in houston texas for them to fix the problem. After in less than an hour the service attendant called me and told me that the car needed the windshield wipers replaced and the ac and engine filters needed to be replaced and it was going to cost 4 or 5 hundred dollars to fix. When I told her I just wanted the airbags fixed she told me the car was ready and I could come and pick it up. When I got there to pick it up the airbag light was still on as if nothing was done to fix the problem. When I told her that they did not fix the car that the airbag light was still on. I was told that there is a lot of work involved in fixing the problem to where the light would go of such as sensors, electrical, and computer resetting. And that they are only required to replace the airbag. I responded with "that was not was I was informed. I was informed that you are supposed to repair the problem and repairing the problem means that the light would go off in its original state or how would I know that the problem is fixed. " he said I was informed wrong especially if I got the information off the internet. In other words, he was telling me that it was too much work for them to repair for free. So what do I do now, am I suppose to continue to drive in an unsafe car I feel like because I was not willing to pay for the services that to be repaired then they were not going to do anything at all. That tells me that they are price gouging and doing illegal business practices and something needs to be done immediately .

This vehicle when it's impacted there's really no help or assistance to get the vehicle removed off your property on the vehicle is a hazard it really needs to be retested and there needs to be someone to know that it's not safe for children and being this vehicle a lot of times it's kids slides and it doesn't have the front part of the vehicle is impacted bad and it's hard to get the car replaced by the manufacturer in thewayenough restraint so that you can take your kids a little faster in the car without answering them it's also a hazard because only certain drivers know how to operate it and it's not always safe to have this car out and about without issues or malfunction.

While driving down a two-way street an oncoming car departed its lane resulting in an offset frontal collision on the driver's side. The driver's side airbag did not deploy, the seat belts did not pretention/lock and the pre-collision system did not engage brakes or alert the driver. The driver of the car suffered a broken bone as a result. The driver of the oncoming colliding car was okay, their airbags deployed.
Dealer repaired airbag recall, now srs light is on and won’t turn off. Dealer now wants hundreds of dollars to check and or fix possible issue told that it may be something else and more work needed. This issue should be part of recall repairs. This car only has 63,200 miles on it well maintained should not have these issues.
