2 Sensing System Camera problem of the 2014 Toyota Corolla

Noted that Toyota has a black screen recall for tundra related to backup camera. Toyota should consider extending the recall to include Corolla models, as my 2014 Corolla s and 2019 Corolla se have both experienced intermittent black screen failures many times while backing up. (at least twice a week for the past 5 years) I reported the issue to the 441 Toyota dealer in the past and they told me that Toyota is aware of the issue but there is no related recall.

3 Sensing System Camera problem of the 2024 Toyota Corolla

Failure Date: 06/02/2025

Rear camera stayed on while I was in drive. I parked, turn off the engine, restarted, and the camera stayed on while driving. I changed gears to reverse and then to drive, but no change.

4 Sensing System Camera problem of the 2018 Toyota Corolla

Failure Date: 08/18/2020

Tl the contact owns a 2018 Toyota Corolla. The contact stated that her view from the backup camera was obstructed. The contact stated that the view shows part of the bumper, the tag, and the roadway. The contact stated that the location of the camera was poorly designed and allowed the view to be obstructed. The manufacturer stated that there was no fix for the issue and that the vehicle was designed to have the camera where it was located. The contact was provided a case number. The dealer Toyota of tampa bay (1101 e fletcher Ave, tampa, FL 33612, (813) 933-6402) inspected the vehicle and showed the contact other models that were all designed the same way. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was 17,858.
