1 Automatic Transmission problem of the 2024 Toyota Land Cruiser

Failure Date: 08/02/2024

The contact owns a 2024 Toyota Land Cruiser. The contact stated that they have noticed that on occasion while beginning to slow down their vehicle from twenty to fifteen mph the vehicle will downshift aggressively, the contact also noted that this occurs while beginning to accelerate from zero. No warning lights were illuminated. The vehicle was taken to a local dealer however the vehicle was not diagnosed as the dealer is waiting for a special technician to come in to diagnose the vehicle. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 1,000.

2 Automatic Transmission problem of the 2000 Toyota Land Cruiser

Failure Date: 06/29/2002

Consumer had pulled partially into garage and shut off vehicle. Consumer then removed some items from vehicle, restarted vehicle to pull completely into garage. Consumer had shifted to park, and dropped an item on garage floor. Went to pick up item, and transmission had shifted into reverse on its own, running into the driver. Driver was killed. Vehicle was tested by engineers for the failure of the transmission by the police department. This information provided by detective rob christopher ( 281 275 2554 ).

3 Automatic Transmission problem of the 1998 Toyota Land Cruiser

Failure Date: 08/03/1999

The vehicle accelerated on its own when coming to a stop at a light. The transmission was completely overriden and it did not make any diference if the car was put in park or reverse, the car still was bucking forward. It stopped when the ignition was killed. This was the second time it happened and the most severe case. The first time it only started to rev but did come to a stop at the light. The incidents were approximately 2-3 weeks apart.
