Takata recall - this is my only car and I have two kids to transport as well as others and I cannot guarantee that no one sits in the front passenger side as requested. I am also concerned with my own safety as the driver, plus my son is starting to drive in 1 month as he gets his learners permit. I am in the priority 1 group but have heard nothing about getting this corrected.
Takata recall: my complaint is that the NHTSA site says the recall was 6/16/2015. I only got the notice in probably August but there is not date on it. This means I cannot carry a passenger in my front passenger seat without liability. I have called the dealer and Toyota. Neither knows any time this will be fixed in my area, oregon. It is ridiculous that I have to can't carry a passenger in my car for such a long time. Is there a fix? when are you requiring Toyota to supply parts? can I ask them fora rental car until they get this fixed? they should have dated their letter!.
Takata recall elmore Toyota in westminster, CA. Flat out lied to me about my airbag replacement. Elmore Toyota is using deceitful tactics, and possibly, unlawful practices. I took my car to elmore on 08/19/2015 for the takata airbag recall. At that time, I told the service guy to check the moulding around my windows, it's starting to come out, and needs to be tucked back in a few spots. And I asked him to give me an oil change while it was there. They didn't have replacement parts on hand, so they gave me a rental car, and told me, when the replacement parts arrive, they'll let me know. I call a couple times a week to check on my car, not a single returned call from elmore. Three full months go by, and I get a voice message from elmore telling me that my car was ready, he said to come pick it up, and that they won't pay anymore days on the rental. It's Monday 11/23/15, I wash, wax, and gas up the rental, and take it to elmore. Nobody can find my car. Nobody can find the guy who called me about it being ready for pick up. It wasn't in the computer. I wait, and wait. 45 minutes later, a service guy pulls up in my car, and it's covered with bird crap, and a (3) month layer of dirt. My car is washed, and waxed, once a week. It was immaculate when I took it to elmore. Obviously, my car sat outside on their lot for (3) months. I look and see that nothing was done with the moulding, so I ask if the oil was changed, he didn't know. He said, "all I know is, they fixed the airbag". I asked him for the paperwork on my car, that shows what work was requested, and what work was done. They said they couldn't find any after I waited a other 30 min. I went home and immediately called the guy at elmore and left several messages, and emails, explaining that they didn't do the moulding, or oil, my car was filthy, and no paperwork. Please get it and call me. Nothing.

Takata recall. I was given the notice a few months ago (at least 2) that the passenger airbag needed to be replaced and to avoid having someone sit in the passenger seat. I contacted the dealer today (1-14-16) and the parts are still not available. It is unreasonable to take this long for a safety issue to be resolved and tell customers that they just shouldn't have a passenger.

I receivd an interim recall notice in June 2015 for the passenger airbag. As of oct 19, 2015 the parts to replace or fix the recall problem are not available, and Toyota cannot tell me when the parts will be available. I find this to be an extremely unreasonable amount of time, considering it is a safety recall and the notification letter for this recall recommended that the passenger seat remain empty until the problem is fixed.

Called dealer to ask about recall, they said they would order parts and to bring car in a week later. Called today and they said they don't have the parts yet. Please advise when this recall will be fixed as it is dangerous and not acceptable to not allow passengers in the car.

Takata airbag recall. We received the recall letter in August. Since then, we have not been able to use our car with anyone in the front passenger seat. That puts a strain on our family. . . We can't drive the car with 5 people and we think Toyota should do something to allow us to use our car in a normal way. They have proposed a loaner car, but we would have to pay the insurance, as our personal car insurance does not cover a long term rental that is due to a recall. As there is no end in sight, that could become impossibly expensive. It just doesn't seem fair to put our family out like this, with no idea when it will end.

The reason I am filing this complaint is I don't feel Toyota's airbag recall is adequate. I purchased a four person sedan to carry four people. Toyota is telling me it isn't safe for a person to ride in the front passenger seat, because of this recall. I feel I need to not only have my vehicle repaired but I need Toyota to purchase my car back at market value or give me a loaner that will carry four passengers until my vehicle is fixed. It is unacceptable for them to ask me to not use my vehicle for what I purchased it for. Regards, paul kluesner.
