The contact owns a 2007 Toyota Prius. The contact stated the approximate mph was unknown due to the instrument panel not being operable most of the time. The contact also stated while driving down the road at approximately 45 mph the brake pedal was not operating; however, on that day the instrument panel was operating and the vehicle stability control, anti-brake system, and brake light illuminated. The vehicle was taken to a local independent mechanic and diagnosed with an actuator and brake booster failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 203,202.

Just purchased the car from a used car dealer 8/26/2020 and was driving down a two lane road approximately 45 mph coming up to a stop sign and the brakes went crazy with a continuous buzzing sound from the brakes and the dash abs, traction control, brake system warning lights all came on, would not stop causing me to run the stop sign and make a turn to slow down and finally come to a stop. Had the trouble code read and the store read the diagnostic trouble code as c1391 and reset so I could drive the vehicle slowly home. I checked for recalls on this dtc 1391 but my 2010 VIN was not included in the recall. They need to recall all of the 2010 Prius.

I am facing many problems with my car lately; it over heats alot and suddenly the speed drops while the car is moving in a very dangerous highway and I can then hardly drive it to park it aside. A message started also to appear frequently "check hybrid system". I was informed by the official Toyota agent in jordan (markazia) that this problems is caused by the invertor. However, they are denying that the invertor for this car was recalled, contrary to what the offical Toyota website states when I enter the VIN. They also calim that they are obligated by the main office to offer a software update only.

While driving around a corner on city streets, braking suddenly became very difficult, and caused the vehicle to skid when brakes were applied. A high-pitched electronic squeal came from the dashboard, and the brake system light, abs light, vsc light, and master warning light all turned on. These are all listed as symptoms of a failed brake actuator. After contacting a licensed Toyota dealership, I was directed to the Toyota customer care department. After being escalated to a supervisor, I was informed that Toyota is aware of this problem, but that the warranty extension they used to cover it expired in 2017, and they refused to cover the cost of replacement (~$3000). I believe this issue should be cause for a safety recall, as it happened suddenly and without warning while the vehicle was in motion. It was pure luck that this didn't result in a crash.
My 2008 Toyota Prius brake system is very dangarous ,on the hi way speed of 55 I push the brake softly ,out of sadden car started acting like a wild horse slipping to the left and right and I am an experienced driver on ice,I lived in m ichigan for a long time ,so I survived , and all drivers around me stopped and there was no accident, I am afraid driving that car,I have called Toyota dealer, seems like use to be a recall but they have some hesitions to accept the faulty, dangarous brake system,I am going to complain to the ceo of the company. God help me,I was lucky my family and I survived ,my message to the Toyota Prius owners is please double check your VIN number and recalls, and insist to fix this common defect on Toyota Prius ,by the dealer with no charges. Very very unsfe brake system. And my instrument lights are on and off I can not see the speed and the odometer and the gas indicator,I heard it was a recall but the dealership did not accept it. If I want to fix these faulty defective parts would cost me over 4000 dollars,Toyota is responsible,I beleive should and must fix it for free valuntarly ,.

Prius has less than 100k miles and has been running perfectly. Today while driving, the brake, abs and traction control lights came on simultaneously and began alarming, while suddenly my brake locked up. This could cause accident and injury if it occurred under the right circumstances. Apparently there was a previous brake booster recall that I was never notified of and which has since expired. This recall should be reissued to include the many 2010 Priuses affected by this problem.
Rattle type of noise can hear and feel from driver's side in front suspension area while driving lower speed and when push brake and stop . Most of noise happened when push brake to stop and slowly start driving / moving vehicle again . Thought noise is from suspension but after being full inspection on vehicle , mechanics believe it's noise from " hybrid system power inverter " . Search recall states on nhsta web and found recall is " incomplete " . So am planing to bring it and ask at Toyota dealer in culver city CA where I originally purchased vehicle for repair / replace inverter . It supposed to be perform as free of service .
I brought my Toyota Prius to Toyota dealer as abs alert was on and I lost controlling the brake. Toyota dealer gave me an estimate for repair at $2,850. 00 ( p1391 abnormal leak in accumulator pump rec master cylinder with brake booster and brake booster pimp assembly) due warranty enhancement expired 05. 09. 2020 or 150,000,miles. I've got abs alert in the beginning of may'20, however, due to covid-19 stay-home order, I had to stay home and wan't able to bring my car until end of may, . 2020. I was advised by Toyota dealership to contact Toyota customer relation as they may consider to extend the warranty, so I contacted Toyota customer relation( actually I was transferred to financial department) and they denied to extend the warranty, and they repeated as " warranty is warranty" . I was very disappointed with Toyota's unkind decision and service under covid-19 situation. I read toyoya 2010 has problems of brake issues, so I want Toyota take a responsibility to fix my brake problem.
Proximity sensors generated an alert that that parking assistance sensors needed cleaning during moderate rain cleaning the sensors did not resolve the issue. Stopped at dealer to have it checked and was advised that the sensor do that in inclement weather and I would need to learn to live with it. If it was just the parking sensors it would not be as significant but I did determine the the front accident assistance did not function as it should have - as I approached a vehicle iin front of me with cruise control the speed reduction that was supposed to occur did not happen. Had I not been checking to see what would happen if the proximity sensors were malfunctioning it could have resulted in an accident. I did not attempt any other actions which rely on proximity sensors to function as I did not want to cause or be involved in an acccident. I was driving at the time and I expect that although the alert specifically mentioned parking sensors, the fact that the car did not slow as Toyota has indicated it should leads be to believe that any and all "driver assistance technologies" may fail when that alert occurs resulting in potential accidents and injuries the vsc off indicator was flashing at the time.

Warning lights for abs, brake and symbol indicating traction control is operating all lit simultaneously with a corresponding change in brake pedal feel. Toyota dealer diagnosed brake booster failure and initially quoted $1,915 to repair then called back to revise this to $2,915. There have been recalls on this part just not covering my VIN.
Code c-1391 leak in brake accumulator. These should be a recall with Toyota putting a bad brake accumulator in Prius model. I notice it was a secondary recall with this part. Toyota know this is a safety problem when this happen the car goes to manual breaking and you can lose control of the car. Please look into this problem.
Toyota Prius v 2012 lost power as I was driving out of the parking lot. I had to make emergency stop on the side of the road because inverter/electric motor failed. Mechanic ran computer test and found that problem codes indeed pointed to failure of inverter. I called local dealer mccord Toyota and was told my car does not fall to extended warranty of inverter and did not offer any help. Same day I called Toyota customer care at 1-800-331-4331 and they told me that my car does not fall under inverter warranty based on my VIN number, and gave me case number 2005072419. I was able to call my insurance company to arrange towing from my location to repair shop. Repair shop completed work and vehicle is now in operable condition. I feel lucky that I was not on freeway and did not have my children with me when it happened.
Brakes and vdc system constantly engage during u-turns, tight turning circles, causing the car to brake unexpectedly. While not accident has happened, it has caused a few near misses as my window to turn shrinks because the car is braking.
Defect within the brake booster pump assembly. If this defect occurs, various warning lamps on the instrument panel made illuminate, I experience increased stopping distance, reduced hydraulic pressure within your brake system, the deactivation of brake assist, and/or the deactivation of vehicle stability control. Toyota has previously issued at least two safety recalls d0h and k0l designed to prevent similar dangerous occurrences. However, hundreds of thousands of generation iii Prius vehicles (2010-2015 model years) were excluded from those safety recalls.
This complaint is for a 2012 Prius v that I've notified my local dealer and Toyota about a possible safety issue relating to the brake booster. The Prius v is currently not included in the zjb customer support program and I believe it should be. Brake pedal feels very firm and inconsistent and much harder to activate the brakes. There is constant (every few seconds) brake booster actuation/whirring consistent with symptoms of a leaking/defective brake booster per my local dealer. Warning lights for brake, abs, stability control, and tire pressure are on.
My brake, abs, vsc, and (!) lights are on. The brakes work at roughly 10% stopping power. Makes an awful buzzing noise when the brakes are applied and the warning chime is on constantly the high pitch ring is unbearable. I called my local Toyota service dealer and was told the champagne ended Nov 30th 2017.
The contact owns a 2010 Toyota Prius. The contact stated that upon starting the vehicle, the brakes warning light, abs warning light and several other warning lights illuminated. The contact took the vehicle to Toyota of santa barbara located at 5611 hollister Ave, goleta, CA 93117, (833) 779-4500) to be diagnosed. The contact was informed that the brake booster assembly needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 116,000.
The car I have have 3 dash lights we pull the code through computer it was c13 91. That means the car have an actuator it's not working so the brake system is not working properly and the abs light traction light the brake light are on all the time . Sometime they go off and sometimes they turn back on usually it's more on time than off time. I did research and find out very common with 2010 2015 Prius model went to Toyota dealership at riverdale west springfield massachusetts no help. It's a known problem they agree but my car is 10 years old or 150000 miles over so no warranty please help I am a poor uber driver 4 daughter and wife I am the only bird feeder 4132850462 is my cell and adeeloraclecertified@gmail. I have never received a recall mail regarding the car. I used an insurance tracking plugin, and all the problems started. Pcs error message on my dashboard, due to a leak in brake booster they said. My dealership will not tell me it's a recall, made it seem like they helped me instead of charging as high as $4000. I was not given a loaner car for the 4days they had my car, and did not get any refunds for the rental car I got.
My abs system started showing signs of problems, and I started getting codes for all sorts of brake-related issues. My brakes ended up locking up and not working, and my battery in my car died because it was the brake system was not able to recharge my battery. Even though I started having issues with it in February, apparently Toyota said that because I had a 2010 Prius, that since November 31, 2019 had passed, the recall/extended warranty "ran out" on it. Even though this is a problem that obviously wasn't fixed in the first place. So when I took it to the dealership to get a diagnostics ran on it, they said that they needed $3,200 to fix the vehicle. This included both the purchasing and installation of a new brake booster/master cylinder assem and an abs pump motor assem. I obviously do not have the money for the repair and they are telling me to go kick rocks. This is not right and because of the brake issue not being fixed in the first place, it then allowed my battery (which runs around $1,500) to get completely drained and prevented it from being properly recharged by the brake system.
My car has stopped running with all warning lights and hybrid system failure warning three times now. First time I was driving when lights came on but got to parking lot where it died. I was able to restart car after a couple of hours, still all warning lights and hybrid warning showing but was able to get it to dealership. Second time I was driving on small road and was able to get car to side of road. Again it started after a couple hours with all warnings lit and I was able to drive to dealership were it also died again but they started it later by resetting codes. Third time it stopped in driveway and I was unable to start it. Had it towed to dealership. First time. 12v battery was replaced and software update performed. Second two times ira Toyota dealership has sent me back out on the road to wait and see if it happens again.

Upon starting the vehicle it makes a high-pitched beep, followed by a buzzing sound that repeats every five to eight seconds. The dashboard displays the tps, abs, vsc, and brake lights. When putting the vehicle in drive, the high-pitch sound returns for one to two minutes. During that time the brake pedal becomes impossible to depress. If the engaged, the vehicle does not stop until the brake pressure returns. Once the sound stops, the brake pressure returns to normal. Diagnosis from Toyota shows: code c1256 = accumulator low pressure. Code c1391 abnormal leak of accumulator pressure. Estimate for repairs = $2,811. 72. At present the vehicle is unsafe to operate as Toyota advised, in the vehicle's current condition the brake system could fail at any time.

Well known abs accumulator failure, loud beeping noise, can't drive car safely, high mileage car and will be repairing it, my complaint is that the part is seventeen hundred dollars $1700 which is a lot for something as important as brakes and with such a high failure rate on all of Toyota's hybrids. This part needs to be available from 3rd parties so I am not forced to deal with junk yard abs that is just as likely to fail because of a flawed design.
Attempting to travel in my 2013 Prius five during xmas was driving and approaching a red and while trying to stop pedal went directly to floor and skid light went on and barely avoided what should be an easy stop!! weather clear felt a drag and no coasting ability. . . Car has 21,000 miles and is in perfect appearance but far from in peak condition as this car from brand new had issues I got tired waiting for Toyota to fix. Cruise control, brakes, bluetooth, engine wrapping sounds on startup, I am told the brake issue since new is now a 3,000+ repair and since it showed no code at dealer I would have to pay! merry xmas Toyota! what is NHTSA waiting for??? I am shocked at both for inaction so I will make some call to my elected officials this has to be fixed. Toyota is becoming gm who would have figured?? my other Prius issues matter less when brakes don't stop you reasonably and the repair is over 3,000 on a car with 21,000 well cared for miles. . .
The water pump went out causing the hybrid battery to die. Pressing the break is supposed to recharge the battery but the battery is now completely gone.

Brake/abs and stability system failure. Possible actuator or accumulator. Touota knows there is a fault and hides behind a software update. System fails and causes unreliable braking with increased force to apply the brakes. Brakes apply so hard at times the rear passengers heads hit the rear seat.
After repair of stalling engine condition: vsv valve replaced, a software update subsequently was performed on my car (jov recall). Ever since that software update it hasn't been safe to drive my car : unsafe breaking, really hard breaking, especially on highways and untimely dashboard lighting related to trac/vsc, check engine and hybrid warning light.
My 2012 Prius v is only 90k miles. Starting from about 2 weeks ago, the warning lights including brake system warning light, abs warning light and slip indicator light were suddenly lit on when I was driving, then I found the regenerate brake become very hard and difficult to stop which was malfunctioning. These warning lights were kept on all the time when I drive the car. The car threw out code c1391 when given a diagnosis. After some online work, I found this is a very common problem for Prius v. I went to the dealership however the dealership states that my car, based on its VIN, is not in one of the certain cars covered by zjb phase 2 which covers brake booster and brake booster pump assemblies for certain 2011-2015 model year Prius vehicles. The failure of the brake could be a deadly deficiency to all the people in the car when driving. Now I have to think to stop using this car because of the severe security risk. Toyota should take action to solve all this problem for all involved cars, not certain cars. My car is made in 2012, the diagnosis code c1391 given by my car are falling into one of the four codes associated with the brake problem covered by zjb phase 2. It is ridiculous that my car was not issued this extended warranty.
My car has been having this issue with braking and dashboard lights with 'brakes, abs, vsc. Have taken it to the dealer and have spent thousands of dollars already. Replaced the brake system (pads, drums, etc. . ), catalytic converter, hybrid battery. Every time I drive out out of the dealer 'all is good' as codes were cleared but a few months after, the lights are on again. These issues have cause are causing my car to be acting up while driving and trying to break at stop signs and crossing lights by delaying to stop on time. This is a safety issue and needs to be addressed by Toyota in assisting us with repairs. Unless they'll wait for a tragedy before doing something about it. Have called the dealer and they always say 'it could this' or 'it could be that'. So far the repairs they have done is supposed to fix the current issue with breaks, lights on the dashboard but now abs can be related to the actuator and that will cost me around $3,000! which I cannot afford anymore. My car is paid for and I've spent almost $7,000 in 'repairs' and of course all vehicle's warrantees had expired when I took it in. In reviewing multiple complaints, this seems to be an issue with these abs and vsc problems and there should be some type of recall to fix them, otherwise as customers we're losing faith in Toyota and/or their dealers. I love Toyota cars but going through these experiences with costly repairs may change my mind in going with another brand.
Was parked in line to pick up child from school. Turned car on and put it on drive, moved slowly when parking brake light, abs warning light, traction control light all came on and then my brakes went limp. Had to push all the way to the floor and stopping was still hard to do. Almost hit the car in front of me when suddenly all lights went off and brakes jerked to a sudden stop. I'm terrified to drive my car at faster speed knowing my brakes basically went out. Pretty sure it's failing brake actuator and Toyota knows about this probably but didn't do a recall only extended warranties. . . I didn't own the car when those warranties we're going on in 2016. Headlights also will randomly turn off and I have to turn them off and back on constantly driving at night.
The Prius vehicles covered only by warranty enhancement zjb are suffering the same dangers from brake booster pump failures as those Toyota covered safety recalls d0h and k0l. By excluding Prius with defective brakes from d0h and k0l, Toyota has left the owners to helplessly experience life-threatening brake failures or malfunctions before Toyota will provide the replacement brake components needed to make the car safe. The law requires Toyota to prevent the life-threatening dangers of this defect before brake failure occurs. Toyota's cost-cutting strategy is causing crashes. Injuries and crashes caused by the brake defect explained herein have been reported to NHTSA. Toyota's decision to provide post-failure repair reimbursement - instead of a preventative safety recall remedy - explains many of the crashes and injuries reported to NHTSA. Takata recall from the date of purchase, vehicle performed unpredictably. I took my car to the Toyota dealership and they found that the hybrid battery needed to be replaced. When I drive 45 mph, the vehicle will stall and all indicator illuminate on the instrument panel. In the middle of the road, the car will stall. Toyota does not stand by their product. My car goes completely dead. Every warning light turns on and its blinking.
