One problem related to gas recirculation valve (egr valve) has been reported for the 1997 Toyota RAV4. The most recently reported issues are listed below.
The contact stated the driver's side seat shifted forward and backwards. Also, engine check light appeared. Took vehicle to dealer, who replaced gas recirculation valve (egr valve).
