Tl the contact owns a 1998 Toyota Rav4. The contact stated while driving approximately 25 mph, the check engine warning light illuminated. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic to be diagnosed. The contact was informed that the vapor canister and the vacuum switching valve (vsv) needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not yet repaired. The manufacturer was informed of the failure. The contact was informed that the VIN was not under recall. The failure mileage was approximately 140,734.
