Manual transmission intermittently came out of fifth gear and went into neutral while driving 50-70 mph. Dealer was notified, and unable to determine the cause of the problem.

2 Manual Transmission problem

Failure Date: 08/20/2003

Manual transmission intermittently came out of fifth gear and went into neutral while driving 50-70 mph. Car was taken to an repair facility other than Toyota, where a service bulletin was found. Car was then taken to Toyota dealer and the transmission was rebuilt. Toyota of America was notified. I was informed that Toyota did not consider this 'problem' which they knew of worthy of a recall because it did not effect enough vehicles.

3 Manual Transmission problem

Failure Date: 10/10/2000

Consumer states he believes that vehicle has a transmission problem, when driving the transmission makes a clunk sound, vehicle has been to the dealer on 2 occasions, however dealer informed consumer that vehicle is functioning properly and there would be no further repair or action.
