Side/rear Glass problems of the 2008 Toyota RAV4

The contact owns a 2008 Toyota Rav4. The contact stated that while the vehicle was parked, the rear window exploded. The dealer and manufacturer were not notified. The approximate failure mileage was 53,000. Updated 8/27/cn.

My wife and I were driving our 2008 Toyota Rav4 sport north on I-95 in virginia at exit 161 when we heard an explosion sound on the top of the car. I slid back the moonroof cover on the inside of the car and could see the moonroof glass was broken, it had a hole in the middle and the rest was shattered. We were not near a bridge or a tower or a truck where something could have fallen on top of the car. There was no other damage on the top of the car. The glass around the hole was pushed up like it had exploded. I called the dealer and asked if they had heard of this before and if there was a recall on it. They said no and it would cost over $1,000 to replace. I took it to where my insurance company told me to get it fixed. . Read more...
