Service Brakes problem #1

The contact owns a 2022 Toyota Rav4. The contact stated that while driving through a trench at 5 mph, the brake pedal was depressed to avoid scraping the bottom of the vehicle however, the vehicle unintendedly accelerated and failed to stop. Additionally, the steering wheel failed to turn as needed, and the vehicle crashed into a picnic table and ran over the chairs. The vehicle came to a stop after crashing into a rock. The contact stated that the bumper and doors were damaged and had scratches from the crash. There was no injury sustained. A police report was not filed. The dealer was contacted and performed an investigation and determined that the accelerator pedal was depressed during the crash and the vehicle was driving 25 mph; however, the contact stated that the brake pedal was depressed during the crash. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 62,000.

Service Brakes problem #2

I have taken vehicle to Toyota service center numerous times and showed them what the vehicle is doing and they are telling me it’s normal. Its not normal when every bump, manhole, railroad tracks you hit in the road with your foot on the brake when your trying to slow down when the abs or traction control is activated and the car skids forward and comes close to causing a crash. When that is activated sounds like a electric grinding noise is activated. I only have videos no pictures.

Service Brakes problem #3

While driving in stop-and-go traffic on a major highway, the auto braking system engaged and the brake would not release. The car came to an abrupt halt and the brake would not release, the gas pedal would not depress. I had to turn the car off, place the car in park and restart the car, the car then continued driving. There was a message on the dash about epb.

Service Brakes problem #4

While on eastbound I-80, my tire pressure sensor light came on. Approximately 5-8 minutes later, my right rear tire came off my car. I was in the slow lane; however, when I went to slow down even more, my brakes failed. I had no brakes on I-80 with only 3 tires. I placed my car in neutral and coasted 1/2 in the slow lane & 1/2 in the bike lane until my car would stop.

Service Brakes problem #5

I was at stop position. I pressed the hold button and then took my foot off the break. When traffic started moving I pressed the hold button again with my foot still on floor the car started jumping and pressing the the two other car on my front. The two other cars got totaled.

Service Brakes problem #6

The breaks are failing to stop the car if there is any rough spots in the road it feels like I'm pushing against air, the car jerks, the break pedal will shudder. The car has no warning lights or sounds when this occurs. The car has recently been inspected by the dealership for this issue, they performed a resurfacing to the breaks. The issue has continued and 2 days after repair, car slipped into intersection due to a failure of the breaks and after going over a rough spot in the road.

Service Brakes problem #7

When breaking on dry roads no matter my speed, or how hard I press the breaks, the abs system kicks in momentarily making my vehicle feel like it’s accelerating vs. Stopping. This is very intermittent. Tends to happen more on rough city roads, however it really doesn’t matter. I understand abs is really suppose to work for wet or snow roads in slippery conditions. In my experience abs has always worked with a rapid pulse. This is certainly not happening. The breaks literally feel like one big skip.

Service Brakes problem #8

My Rav4 hybrid 2022 exhibits a front brake squeal/squeak noise when braking at low speeds. Went to Toyota delearship and they examined but said there's no issue! called Toyota customer service and expected a call back but didn't hear back. (Toyota case number 220726001124).
