The contact stated that two days prior to the failure, the "hybrid system fail" warning message appeared on the instrument panel. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic for a repair and an inspection. The contact was informed that the vehicle's black box did not record a vehicle failure during the accident.
