Child Seat problem #1

My daughter (5-years old, 40 lbs) was in a britax frontier car seat when we were struck by another car in the front driver's side. The car was then struck a second time and propelled into a telephone pole. The plastic piece holding the car seat tightly in place snapped during the accident, and though the car seat was still fastened by the latch system it could move freely. My daughter hit the dvd player in front of her seat. She has a concussion and multiple facial lacerations. The car seat completely failed to hold her in place in the accident. (related vehicle information: model year=2009, make=Toyota, model=rav4).

Child Seat problem #2

My child's carseat was purchased in 2012. The seat belt pieces do not stay tightened. They are tightened every time our daughter is put in and are loose by the time we take her out after each trip. This happens without fail every time and has happened from the first time we used it. (related vehicle information: model year=July 2012, make=snugride, model=1809558) (related vehicle information: model year=2007, make=Toyota, model=rav 4).

Child Seat problem #3

: the contact stated while the child was restrained in a safety seat, the child's left thumb became trapped inside the slot for a removable cup holder that attached to the seat. The contact attempted to remove the occupant's finger from the slot, but after several attempts the thumb could not be removed. The child inside the seat was transported to a local hospital where the safety seat was literally cut off of the occupant's thumb. Minor injuries were sustained. The child safety seat was a cosco alpha omega, model # 22-151-bla; date of manufacture was Nov. 14, 2005. The manufacturer was notified.
