Radio/tape Cd Player Problems of Toyota Scion Tc

My 2006 Scion Tc rear trunk handle broke off. It is a common problem. I had tape holding it on for a year or so, and glued it myself. I did not recieve any recall notice otherwise I would have fixed it. It is not just the handle to get in to the trunk. This is a 18 inch by 6 inch piece of my car hanging by a wire. I just called scion and they said that is was not a recall but a warrenty extenstion that expired 7 years from the date of car being sold or March 2014. Hopefully it stays on and doesn't fly off on the freeway and cause an accident, because then will not be able to have access to my spare tire or get into my trunk. This should be a recall with no expiration date.

The rear trunk hatch molding panel broke off and the electrical cord with latch release is unsecured and dangling. It has to be secured to car with tape but that covers brake light. I've been pulled countless times here in texas and most troopers inform me that it "is a safety hazard and unsafe". There are thousands of scion TX and xbs from 2005-2011 with the same problem as seen in this facebook page and petition for recall. . Read more...

I bought my car brand new in December 2008 and within a week I noticed that the radio did not get good reception in some areas. I brought my car into the dealership where I purchased the vehicle and they could not duplicate the problem. I have this problem occur on a daily basis and the slightest things cause signal interruptions. Some of these items are other vehicles, metal building overhangs, telephone poles, rain clouds, fog, trees, and random other items. I have had my car in the dealership 5 times now and they have replaced both the radio and the antenna that connects from the radio to the external antenna on the rear deck lid of my car. Neither one of these repairs have fixed my vehicle. The dealership has noted on 2 of my repair orders that they have driven other cars on the lot like mine and have experienced similar issues.

Cd player malfunctions and won't play cds. It reads error 4 and completely shuts down all cd functions including eject.
