Traveling north on I-75 in independence twp, mi south of ortonville rd at 10:55am in a snow storm, driver used the passing lane to overtake a slow moving vehicle in the center lane. Accelerating to 70mph, driver began to merge back into center lane but encountered a heavy buildup of slush between lanes and began to loose traction. Vehicle started to veer to the right. Driver removed foot from the accelerator and turned wheel slightly to the left to correct the skid but the electronic stability control engaged and the vehicle immediately entered into a rapid 360 degree spin to the right. No other vehicle was struck. Driver recovered from the spin momentarily and car was facing northbound between the center and right lanes but still veering to the right. The front wheels contacted dry pavement while the rear wheels were on wet pavement causing the vehicle to make a sharp right turn head on into the guard rail at 60 mph. The guard rail gave way and the front end of the vehicle sustained heavy damage. However the vehicle rebounded and remained in the road way, sliding sideways and eventually spinning another 270 degrees after again striking the guard rail. The initial high speed impact with guard rail appears to have ignited the sodium azide as evidenced by a gunpowder like oder in the vehicle however no airbags deployed. Additionally, the seatbelt while properly fastened did not retract and restrain the driver. The seatbelt extended all the way out and remained in this position. This made it difficult to control the vehicle and caused the driver to impact the steering wheel when the guardrail was struck. This resulted in injury to the right side of the rib cage, with possible hairline fractures to the ribs, torn muscles, and bruising of the liver. Driver's head also impacted the ceiling. Upon second guardrail impact, driver's left arm impacted the steering wheel.

T-bone accident where I was hit at driver's front wheel and rolled. Front of the car was destroyed. No airbag deployed. At fault driver stated going 55 mph, through stops signs, hitting me. I was doing 55 and slammed on my brakes, so I was doing somewhat less than 55. I was pinned in the xb and had to be cut out. I ended up pinned with the steering wheel a few inches from my face. An attempt to cut steering wheel off to get room to get me out and to avoid the airbag from firing off in my face, failed. The "jaws of life" wasn't able to cut through the steering column. I do not know the reason.

Driving on an access road, a car stopped suddenly on front of me at low speed, and I stepped on brakes hard and they did not work. Have had acceleration problems in past and reported to dealership. Car was included in the recall of cruise control sticking and acceleration and odometer going out and dashboard. Airbags deployed prematurely and did not inflate fully. Service light sticking preventing inspection until dealership can order part resulting in two traffic violations of no inspection even though presenting documentation of seeking inspection and failed. Replaced part on service bullentin, replaced three windshields having nothing hitting it but cracking anyway, back trunk handle broke, glove compartment broke, seat belt problems, car total lossed by insurance company even though front had no damage visable, severe damage to front bumper underneath=six thousand dollar estimate-no transportation now-unsafe car , was loyal Toyota customer but this is not a safe car four sets of tires before forty thousand miles, factory put wrong size on care, private tire company identified problem and tire rims were damaged. This was a rip off car. Bought new-never again.

Carfax reports the vehicle was in an accident. How do I know if defective takata air bags where installed during repairs?.
We question why none of the 4 airbags (2 sides, driver or passenger) deployed in a crash that had the 2010 Scion Xb airborne. And the vehicle rolled resting upright on the front of the car. The injuries were predominantly seatbelt bruises and a fractured kneecap. The multiple impacts during rolling may have been too low to initiate an airbag deployment or it could indicate a problem. What should be done to determine whether the response was appropriate? the car will likely be totaled by state farm. Is there (or should there be) any "trigger" that causes records to be kept on levels of damage and whether airbags actually deployed?.

I was driving my 2005 Scion Xb when I struck a guard rail and another vehicle with the front end of the scion at approximately 50 mph. My airbag did not go off. This resulted in whiplash injuries to my head, neck and back. My vehicle was determined to be a total loss by my insurance company after the crash.
My car has several defects. I have a 2006 Toyota scion. I purchase this car from carmax but they tell me that I have to have it repaired at a Toyota car dealership place. This place has been given me a run around about fixing my car ever since January. I brought my car in for one thing to be repaired. And the told me that the electrical air bag and the electrical system needed to be replace in my car and I have not been able to get my car repaired at this place at all. I have been trying for the last few months to have them to repaired what they said I needed repaired on my car. I have not heard no responds from this company in regards to my car. I have already had some problems with this car and the air bag did not work.
I own a 2006 Toyota Scion Xb. This vehicle was the #2 vehicle in a 4 car collision. As such it was hit by vehicles 3 and then 4. It hit vehicle 1 two times. The car was totaled in the crash and no airbags deployed. I feel this is a major safety defect.
