1 Steering Rack And Pinion problem

The contact owns a 2002 Toyota Sequoia. The contact stated that while driving at various speeds, a popping noise emitted from the front of the vehicle when turning in either direction. Also, the contact mentioned that while driving approximately 30 mph, the front passenger side suspension failed. After inspecting the vehicle, the contact discovered that the front passenger side wheel was pointed in the opposite direction of the driver side wheel. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic who diagnosed that the front passenger side shaft that attached to the rack and pinion was loose and becmae detached. The vehicle was repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 85,000.
