Tl- the contact owns a 2006 Toyota Sequoia. The contact stated that while driving at 5 mph and making a left turn, the driver side ball joint failed without warning. The contact took the vehicle an independent mechanic where the ball joint was replaced. The contact stated that a year later while the contact's wife was driving at 70 mph, the passenger side ball joint failed without warning causing the driver to lose control of the vehicle. The contact veered of the side of the road and hit the median; the contact hugged the barrier of the median to prevent her from veering into oncoming traffic on the opposite side of the road. No injuries were reported and police report was filed(p190541059). The vehicle was totaled and was towed to a independent tow yard. There are no recalls on the vehicle and the manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 230,000. Jo.

3 Ball Joint problem

Failure Date: 08/23/2007

I am having unusual tire wear on the outside edge of all 4 tires on my vehicle (2006 Toyota Sequoia), to the point of becoming bald. I have been relaying my concern to the dealer for the past 11k miles. The vehicle currently has 21k miles on it. The vehicle has been aligned 3 times by manufacturer dealers, the front ball joints have been replaced and the vehicle has been thoroughly inspected by district level manufacturer's people. They are saying nothing is wrong with the vehicle, but I have been doing some research and am finding that this has been a complaint on the same model of vehicle since 2002. I feel that the suspension of this vehicle is not allowing it to ride properly on the tires, thus causing this premature wear. The problem seems to be on bf goodrich, bridgestone and in particular, dunlop tires.
