The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic where it was determined that the rear subframe needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The vehicle was taken to the dealer but was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 138,000.

The contact owns a 2007 Toyota Sequoia. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, the vehicle made abnormal sounds. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic, who diagnosed that there were holes in the subframe and that the subframe needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. 4 Frame And Members problem

The rear portion of the vehicle frame that holds up the spare tire and has the brake proportioning valve attached to it is severly corroded and the spare tire is in danger of falling off the vehicle while it is in motion. Also the brake lines can be broken causing a loss of baking ability resuling in a vehicle crash.

I have excessive rusting on our Sequoia and am concerned about premature failure of the frame and/or structural components underneath the vehicle.
