I own a 2007 Sequoia and a few months ago on random occasions while taking a right turn my vsc (vehicle stability control) light would turn on and the gas pedal would no longer supply gas to the engine. This is very dangerous especially if I am turning in to on-coming traffic with my entire family in the car. The cars coming up behind me often must slow down quickly to avoid rear ending me. My mechanic (not from a Toyota dealer) informed me that he had several customers who had come in with the same complaint. I contacted Toyota only for them to tell me that since it wasn't a recall there was nothing they would do. I searched the internet and have found a large number of folks with the same situation. Please do something about this before something very bad happens. Thank you.
When driving conditions are dry, warm weather, I make a turn from a complete stop and the vehicle stability control (skid control) light starts blinking and acceleration is diminished significantly. The vehicle bogs down and I can not accelerate and almost get hit from the oncoming traffic. I have taking it to the dealer several times and for some reason, they cannot replicate it. My vehicle has 65000 miles on it now and it is happening more frequently. Unfortunately, the warranty has expired. But, this is a serious flaw in the design of the stability system. It happens on a daily basis. Please help in forcing a recall.
