Tl-the contact owns a 2009 Toyota Sequoia. The contact stated that while driving 35 mph, the accelerator pedal became stuck in the depressed position causing an increase of speed up to 80 mph as the brakes and traction control warning lights illuminated. The contact mentioned that the brake pedal had to be depressed continuously in order to stop the vehicle. The contact mentioned that the vehicle was previously repaired under NHTSA campaign number: 10v017000 (vehicle speed control). The vehicle was taken to the dealer. The technician diagnosed that the failure was due to the mat becoming stuck under the accelerator pedal. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired.
