The contact owns a 2003 Toyota Sequoia. The contact stated that while driving 10 mph, he noticed that the vehicle was exhibitng an abnormal noise as if he were driving on a flat tire. After pulling over, he noticed that the front passenger tire was separated from the vehicle due to a broken lug nut. The vehicle was inspected by an independent mechanic and they advised him that he would need to install studs on the rotors and replace the lug nuts. The vehicle was repaired. The failure and current mileages was approximately 86,000. Updated 05/25/11 the consumer stated the wrong lug uts were installed on the vehicle. Upated 06/03/11.

2 Wheel Bolts problem of the 2006 Toyota Sequoia

Failure Date: 09/12/2007

The contact owns a 2006 Toyota Sequoia. While tightening the lug nuts to the post during a tire rotation, the post failed. One other posts failed due to hydrogen embrittlement. The other two posts were close fracturing, but stop tightening to prevent fracture. Later. The manufacturer stated that they would replace all 24 posts. Needs to change the tires on his car and can not get the wheels off. Call Toyota they said that keep tring and go to dealer will adise or take care of problem. Took off lugs and sercurty lock off and still cant get the tire off. Tried front and rear tiers. This is a wheel problem on my Toyota 4 runner sr5.
