One problem related to engine rattling and whining sounds has been reported for the 1999 Toyota Sienna. The most recently reported issues are listed below.
Engine went out while driving 55 mph. Dealer replaced engine. Currently, new engine is making a rattling sound intermittently. Dealer cannot find problem with engine. Also, power locks are not working properly, sometimes it takes 3 or 4 times before doors will open.
