1 Tire Blowout problem

Failure Date: 05/02/2008

My wife has brand new firestone firehawk st tires put on her Toyota Sienna van on April 15 2008 and on may 2, 2008 while driving down the interstate her tire came apart. The tread separated from the sidewalls (which were still on the rim) and went flying off still completely round . Luckily it was a rear tire and she was able to control her vehicle and bring it to a safe stop. The tires were installed at the Toyota dealership and they replaced all four tires because we didn't feel safe with this brand. We did have to replace the rim on the blown tire as it became bent sometime during the ordeal.

2 Tire Blowout problem

Failure Date: 07/22/2007

The contact owns a 2004 Toyota Sienna. While driving 70 mph, the passenger side rear tire blew out. The following day, the front driver side tire cracked. The road conditions were dry. There was no crash or property damage. The tires were dunlop, size p215/65r16. The current and failure mileages were 35,000.

3 Tire Blowout problem

Failure Date: 05/26/2007

5 days after paying harr Toyota of worcester 2000. 00 for a 60,000 mile check up, brakes and my third set of run flat tires. I experienced a blow out on the highway which was caused by improper installation of the tire. This was noted by Toyota of nashua who then replaced the tire which again blew out 60 miles down the highway. This is the third set of tires I have had with 56,000 miles on the car. Not including the two I had to replace due to inferior work. This is insane and very dangerous. My family's lives were endangered twice in one day! every Toyota mechanic I spoke to complained about the tires. After getting no satisfaction from either dealership I wrote a lettter to yuki funo the ceo of Toyota who kindly sent the letter back to harr who has still done nothing! unbelievable that they are allowed to sell such an inferior product at such a high price that is not only expensive but dangerous!!! also unbelievable that a ceo of a company is aware he is endagering people's lives and does nothing about it.

4 Tire Blowout problem

Failure Date: 10/30/2005

2004 Toyota Sienna equipped with run flat tires. Had tires put on by Toyota on Friday oct. 28. Sunday oct. 30 while driving on highway had a tire blowout causing $2226. 00 damage to car. Pressure warning system did not work or was not set by Toyota when tires were mounted on Friday. If the pressure warning had been working we would have known there was a problem with the tire and had it fixed. Not knowing there was a problem with the tire led to the tire blowing out. Had van towed back to Toyota and explained what had happened and they basically told us we had run over something and that we were going to pay for damage. Toyota was unwilling to acknowledge any responsibility in this matter.

5 Tire Blowout problem

Failure Date: 09/04/2005

The vehicle has run flat tires. There is a light on the dash board that informs the consumer when the tire pressure is low. This particular did not light up and one of the tires blew out on the inside of the tire. The vehicle is not equipped with a spare. The tire itself is not easy to replace because nobody carries these tires. The dealer has the vehicle even though these tires cannot be filled once they are in flat mode. This occurred on September 4, 2005.

6 Tire Blowout problem

Failure Date: 06/24/2005

I was 60 miles from home and my bridgestone run flat tire blew on my 2004 Sienna. The vehicle required towing because the run flat didn't do the job it was supposed to. (you're supposed to be able to drive 100 more miles at 60mph) I drove 11 miles and the tire was down to the rim. My Toyota dealer said these tires are only rated for 20,000 miles but I'm only at 17,000 when the mishap happened. The tires are over $300. 00 a piece. Now all 4 tires are wearing on the inside due to the awd so I am told. Buyers beware!!!!!!!.
