The contact owns a 2005 Toyota Sienna. The contact stated that the headlight interior plastic covers failed. The headlight covers exhibited a heavy, white, foggy discoloration. The dealer stated that the headlight interior covers needed to be replaced. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The headlight interior covers were not replaced. The approximate failure mileage was 50,000.
The right side (passenger) headlight went out. Replacement of the light bulb (which was a whopping 190. 00) did not solve the problem. Was told that it is a special type of hid light which has a headlamp control module aka ballast aka computer that could be bad. Dealer quoted $600 to fix a headlight. My other repair shop quoted $450. Really Toyota? $450-600 to fix a headlight???? ridiculous. No one should have to pay this much to fix a headlight. Who engineered this? beyond frustrated.
I have a problem with one of my hid headlamps on a 2005 Toyota Sienna failing intermittently. It seems from my research that I'm not the only one having this problem.
