Air Brake problem #1

Brakes squealed within days of purchasing new Sienna 8-seat Mini-van. It was returned to be fixed to dealer who "glazed" the brakes. Within days they were squealing agin. It was again returned to dealer who replaced rear drums and shoes. Within a few days the brakes were squealing again. It was taken to a second dealer who again replaced rear drums and shoe but within 24 hours, the brakes were again squealing. It has less than 4000 miles and has had less than a week when the brakes have not been squealing. Additionally, it takes excessive force to close back hatch.

Air Brake Abs Warning Light problem #2

The contact owns a 2006 Toyota Sienna. The contact stated that she heard a strange noise while decelerating when the brakes failed to engage without warning. The contact continued to depress the brake pedal with force until the antilock braking system engaged but failed. The vehicle was towed to an independent mechanic where the brake pump was replaced but failed. The contact then had the brake pump replaced for a second time, but the failure recurred. The vehicle towed to another independent mechanic where it was diagnosed that the abs needed to be replaced and the contact was advised to take the vehicle to a dealer. The dealer was notified of the failure and informed the contact to take the vehicle back to the independent mechanic. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 90,000.
