Odometer - false - reporting -montana title - signed and notarized by seller (carvana) "federal and state state law require that the owner state the mileage of a vehicle upon transfer of ownership. If you fail to complete this disclosure or provide a false statement, you may be subject to fines and/or imprisonment. " we were sold Toyota Sienna 110477 miles, however the odometer reads 206625 miles. We reached out to carvana to resolve the issue, they refused. -carfax history -pic of odometer -copy of the title notarized false miles -bill of sale thank you, awan auto group.
The vehicle vsc engaged multiple times even at low speed of 30 mph under the road speed limit. The brake applied and even the vehicle stop to respond to the acceleration. We have 3 little kids and old parents in this vehicle. Toyota should own this problem and fix it free of charge as a factory recall.
While driving on the highway on a slight curve on dry pavement the slip indicator light would come on and the alarm sound eventually causing the brakes to engage and the car to jerk on its own without warning. This happens so often that it's dangerous to drive the van with my family.
While on a highway or freeway speeds of 35 to 70 mph while turning on a curve the slip indicator light comes on, causing the vehicle to slow down on a jerk motion as the brakes apply by itself. This can also happen on a sharp curve turning onto the freeway. It's very dangerous situation.
The four bridgestone ecopia ep422 tires were purchased at costco in 2014. Although the tires have been aligned regularly by firestone and tire pressure checked one a month, the outer edge of the tires wore down unevenly. There are only 9,860 miles being used on these tires for 65,000 mile warranty. The unknown problems may be associated with the design of the van or the tires and need to be further examined.
The traction control system comes on when going into any right turn. The alarm beeps and the car automatically brakes, and the gas pedal is disabled so that you can not speed up. The braking can be so severe that it will reduce speed from 45 mph to 25 mph without notice which jerks the passengers violently.
The traction control system is often triggering while driving and turning at freeway speeds. It presents a huge risk of losing control every time. Many people with Toyota Sienna vans are experiencing this same issue as I've seen on various website forums. There should be a recall for this safety issue.
Powered passenger doors on both sides of the van malfunctioned and then cable system broke and locked the doors in the closed position. This happened one after the other in about a three-week period. The cable is clearly rusted and shredded on the one side. I cannot tell why the cable pulled out and stopped working on the other side. As I transport 3 or more children at a time, it is a huge safety issue that the only way out of the car in case of emergency is through one of the front doors or the back trunk hatch. I have owned this vehicle since it was new and I am told this is out of warranty/isn't covered and will cost at least $6,000 to fix. I cannot drive the vehicle like this and I can't afford to fix it. I am apparently not the only one who's had this problem with the van, yet Toyota is doing nothing about it for their customers.
Struts on the rear door are failing. The door comes down whenever it wants to. This is a safety issue and very dangerous. I see you have had a recall already but it doesn't list my specific year. Failing struts in 2008 are failing. I want Toyota to fix this for free.
Passenger rear power sliding door. Cable broke. Known problem. Not safe and not convenient. $1300 just for part and $2000 repair. Probably driver side will be next. 76000 miles and garage kept. Why no help from Toyota? vehicle was stationary when cable broke. Heard grinding sound, then door bound, now not working.
Our left rear sliding door won't function or open any more. The cable broke. Then 2 days later the right rear sliding door won't function or open anymore. Same problem. Cable was severed or snapped. Looks like it was rusted on both cables, both sides, and severed in the same position or length. So, both rear sliding doors do not function. They only open to about 1 foot, and no further. Extremely difficult to close or open doors at all. The minivan was stationary both times while opening doors for my kids to get in. I was parked on a street. The left side broke on July 1, 2016, and the right side broke 2 days later on July 3, 2016.
Cable mechanism on both power sliding doors broke. The cables have snapped. One door is jammed shut and is unable to open. I hear the motor working, but I see the cables on the outside of the van and I see the cables snapped in half.
Power sliding door won't open or closed. Looks like the cable is messing up. Called Toyota and they said no recall only a addition to the warranty. 9 years or 120,000 miles. My van has way over 120,000 miles! that stinks! this may cost over $1,000 to repair. I look online and thousands of people having issues! should be a recall!.
In a span of 2 weeks while stationary attempting to exit vehicle the 2008 Toyota Sienna van driver side and passenger sliding door cables frayed then broke and door jammed shut.
The rubber pad under the switch that is used to open the liftgate on the back of the Sienna has gone soft and tar like. If I grab a piece it pulls right off like chewing gum. The black star like substance gets on the hands/fingers too and is hard to wash off. This is a very common defect (not normal wear and tear). Toyota won't recall and make it a warranty fix. The part# is 84840-08010 and msrp is $58. 53 plus labor.
The tailgate strut failed to hold up the liftgate and struck me in the head. Please see below for other Toyota Siennas; Toyota Siennas recalled to fix power liftgate liftgate may fall on users Toyota is recalling 196,222 Sienna vans from the 2004 through 2006 model years to repair the struts which hold up the power-assisted liftgate. Those struts can fail, causing the gate to power its way shut, injuring anyone hit by the closing door. Image conscious Toyota, with the approval of the national highway traffic safety administration (NHTSA), is describing the recall as a "safety improvement campaign" in a public relations effort by the japanese automaker not to further sully a deteriorating reputation for quality control. The gas struts used to lift and support the the rear power liftgate "could wear out sooner than expected," according to the "safety improvement campaign" notice published by NHTSA. "as the gas struts deteriorate, the performance of the liftgate will begin to degrade and the power rear liftgate will operate more slowly than when the gas struts were new," according to NHTSA. The safety agency warns that worn struts may not be able to support the weight of the liftgate when it is open and the door could fall "about 10 inches after it reaches the fully opened position at which point the power motor will engage and power the liftgate to the fully closed position," perhaps injuring anyone struck by the closing door. Toyota dealers will replace the gas struts during the "safety improvement campaign" with struts the automaker said will have a longer service life.
The rear hatch handle has completely melted, as have the inside rubber components on the sliding doors. Looking online, this has happened to many other Toyota owners. This has to be a safety hazard - melting rubber components?.
The rear hatch suddenly closes at a fast speed when it is cold. This will happen repeatedly, we have had close calls with this now since November. Toyota shows no recalls for this.
The power liftgate wont stay open and closes on people, repeatedly.
The dashboard is sticky and produces a glare. It gets stickier when it's hot. The sun seems to be melting it. It causes a glare while you're driving that is dangerous. I have researched this and it is happening to other Toyota dashboards pre 2009, especially in the state of florida, which is where we live. There needs to be a recall before someone gets hurt. Thank you.
Car pauses at slow speeds. Car jerks first, then check engine light comes on, trac off light comes on. Vsv light comes on. Code diagnosed as dtc po717. Toyota dealer does not know how to fix it. Suggests trial and error. Vehicle hesitating is dangerous.
Pulled into parking lot at about 15 mph. With my foot on the brake, I slowed down to about 5 to 10 mph to pull into the parking spot. All of a sudden, the vehicle accelerated as if someone had pushed the accelerator all the way to the floor. My vehicle went up over the sidewalk and into the side of a building causing extensive damage to the building. My car was not damaged too badly only about $1,300 as estimated by the appraiser.
The passenger side automatic door cable snapped. The car is only 6 years old. I did some research on the internet and there are widespread reports of this being a common design flaw with Toyota Sienna automatic doors. I called the dealership and they indicated it was $1600 to repair the cable. That is outrageous! I wrote to Toyota through their customer support site inquiring about an extended warranty I read about regarding this issue, however they opted to ignore me and not respond.
Received letter,7/24/14, advising that my 2008 Toyota Sienna had a potential problem with the cable, holding the spare tire underneath the vehicle, which needed to be replaced. On 8/26/14, my spare tire was relocated to the luggage compartment of my van which rendered the area unusable for folding the rear seats down to use that area for transporting larger items, etc! I checked several times with my local dealer regarding a permanent solution/repair and was told they had not yet received notice of and/or repair parts for the identified problem. On 11/20/14, I contacted the Toyota customer experience center and spoke, at length, with a representative who stated that they had been receiving numerous calls regarding this issue and that she was aware of several meetings regarding the issue but no resolution as yet and no idea when a resolution will occur. It would seem that by now, if the situation is being actively worked on, an acceptable repair would be available! I am frustrated and disappointed with Toyota for their seeming indifference to those of us waiting for their action on this matter. Thank you for your prompt attention to this situation.
Both sliding doors are not working properly. They do not latch and stay closed. Both door have opened while vehicle was in motion. Back power sliding door has opened while the vehicle was being driven at least 10 times. The back non-power sliding door is not working either. However, this one we do not use and it has stayed closed most of the time. It has only opened 3 times while driving. This is an extreme danger. Toyota is only covering part of the cost to repair but I was past the 120,000 miles when my problem began. So we are left footing the bill on a defect of Toyota's doing. I feel this is outrageous because it is a huge safety concern.
Bought this vehicle used from a dealer on 5/10/2014. Noticed "stickiness" on the entire top of dashboard. Thought it could be cleaned or washed off. It never came off. Saw in the media that this is a problem with Toyota dashes-melted dashboards, sticky and can scrape surface off with your fingernail. There is a shiny glare to the dashboard.
The automatic sliding door cable came loose, causing the door to get stuck and further damage the cable. This flaw is noted in a recall for 2004-2007 models, but we believe it should be included in the 2008 models, as well.
Note: I have two cars, two recalls and the same problem with the dealership. This complaint is in regards to fred anderson Toyota raleigh's service department. I have bought 4 cars with this dealership, three of them have had manufactures defects. Every time I call, including this last time for my recall they tell me that not only do they not have the parts available to fix the recall, it will take them "at least" 30 days to get the parts available for the recall. The service department is horribly run and the fact that they don't have remedies for serious safety recalls readily available or at least on quick delivery is unacceptable. Also, they told me that it would take at least hours to fix the part when it finally comes in but only offer a rental car if the fix is more than $400, which of course, since this is free of charge the consumer has to figure out transportation to make up for the fact that they don't know how to make safe cars. It is my opinion that fred anderson Toyota raleigh's service department would rather put its customers at risk than fix their recall so they make it as hard as possible to get the fix taken care of. I have tried to contact manager and owner of the dealership and they both ignore my calls. One would think that after buying 4 cars with their company they would have some level of care for my family's safety. They don't!.
My Toyota 2008 Sienna le passenger automatic sliding door won't closed and opened completely. I've experienced an intermittent jammed with this door for the past 3 days. As a temporary fix, I need to get out from the car to help the door in closing and opening it because the button inside the car and even the remote(has new battery installed) won't do the work . One day, when driving my kids to school. As I made a left turn, I heard an audible noise/alarm and we were surprised and tried to figure out where the sound came from until my kids told me that the door is partially open while driving. I pulled over and temporary close the door. I managed to go back home and still with the alarm on and then re-pushed harder to make the door completely closed. That was scary because my kids were sitting in 2nd row. To address this problem. On same day, I rushed my car to Toyota dealership and the representative told me that cable assembly is broken and need to replace all parts but must pay $1700 + tax because the issue was the power sliding door cable assembly although my car has very low mileage 30, 312 miles (sitting most of the time inside the garage) and still not covered by Toyota warranty enhance program for rear sliding door cable. This is very frustrating and adding insult to injury, I was told that I'm not the only one had this problem.
I purchased this vehicle used from hoselton auto mall in rochester NY in August 2013. I was talked into a "Toyota platinum care" bumper to bumper extended warranty. I was told this warranty was exactly the same as the new vehicle warranty but for an extended time. I was told it covered everything. I specifically asked if it covered all parts on the sliding doors, the dvd player, etc. I was told yes. In January 2014 I experienced a problem with one of the sliding doors. My local dealership said the center hinge was bad and was not covered under my warranty. I insisted that hoselton pay for the repair, they reluctantly did so. I have since had both siding doors repaired multiple times due to the lock assembly not working. The lock assembly is covered under a new special condition warranty because Toyota has received so many complaints. Now the other doors center hinge is bad. I was told if I don't replace the hinge that the lock assembly will keep going bad. So these are obviously related issues. This combined issue causes my doors to either be stuck open, be stuck closed, or to open while I am driving. All safety issues as I have children in the back seat. I have contacted Toyota and the warranty people and neither want to assist. I want the hinge replaced at Toyotas cost. This is dangerous and it is a known issue by them. They need to resolve this ASAP. My vehicle is unsafe to drive. I have contacted them via telephone and their email system, all with no luck with assistance.
I recently purchased a 2008 Toyota Sienna that I believe has a safety issue, particularly in cold weather. The exterior switch that allows the rear hatch to open is not functional in cold weather due to a material malfunction. I noticed that during warmer weather, the rubber seal over this exterior switch had become soft and gummy. Over time, the rubber seeped between the switch housing and the switch button. As the weather became cold, the rubber has hardened around the switch button and the exterior switch is no longer functional. The only way I can open the rear hatch in cold weather is to open a front door and use the interior switch to open the rear hatch. My concern is if we were to get into an accident during the cold months and the only way someone could get access to the interior of the vehicle is through the rear hatch, it could not be done because the exterior switch on the rear hatch would be seized preventing access. It is very alarming when I think of my entire family, especially my 15 yo, my 3 yo, and my 6 mo, being inside of this van and people not gaining access to the inside to help them due to injuries, fire, water hazards, etc. . . I own a 2005 Toyota 4runner and it appears to have the same switch. However, the rubber on the switch is perfectly fine and functions normally. There appears to have been a material change allowing the rubber to soften resulting in a potential safety hazard during the cold months. I spoke to our local Toyota dealership and they are fully aware of this issue and said that Toyota does not consider this to be a safety issue. Initially I thought the previous owner applied a solvent or something to soften the rubber. As I researched more on the internet, this issue applies to many Toyota vehicles, with models including the Sienna and the 4runner. The earliest model year that I can find for either model is 2007.
Dash is sticky and is producing more of a glare/reflection on my inside windshield. Extremely distracting.
Power sliding door cable broke. Research into this problem shows that it can cause door to jam in the open position. Problem was frequent enough that Toyota covers the repair for vehicles manufactured 2004-2007. The problem persists in the years manufactured after this, as mine is a 2008, but the $1200. 00 repair is not covered by Toyota csp.
The rear hatch failed today on my Sienna. It will go up and suddenly without any notice fall slamming down. It almost hit my wife in the head. This is serious defect that Toyota needs to correct.
Airbag indicator warning light flashes continuously. Jiggled wires under front passenger seat a year ago, and the warning light quit flashing for a couple months. But then it started flashing again about six months ago. A warranty enhancement notification - ztx was received from Toyota a few days ago. Local dealer said that diagnosis would take two hours & cost $130. Read on the internet to try disconnecting the yellow wire (airbag sensor) under the front passenger seat and wait 15 seconds. Tried that and the flashing light has gone off again. This yellow connector pin and wiring should be fully replaced by Toyota under a full recall so that this doesn't become a recurring, regular issue for Sienna owners.
