general problems of the 2011 Toyota Sienna

One week ago I got in my car to go to work and when I start driving I heard a strange noise every time I turn my streeing wheel . So I took my car to my mechanic and he found that my front strut mount on driver side of vehicle is damaged . He told me that this part is not supposed to go bad as yet on my car.

I put the vehicle in park, yet although the shift is in park,the indicator says its in reverse, then the van starts rolling backwards. Shut off the engine and its like the van is in neutral, the van starts rolling down hill. Extremely dangerous I almost ran over a child behind me! I spent thousands of dollars to replace shifter cable, I later saw recall on 2014 model but 2011 model has identical problem.

The contact owns a 2011 Toyota Sienna. While driving approximately 45 mph, the steering wheel vibrated violently. The contact had to pull the vehicle over to the side of the road. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic. While the vehicle was on the lift, it was noticed that the passenger side axle was leaking. The failure occurred for the past six months. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 80,000.

We were infomed by Toyota service that the tires are balding and need replacement. They informed us that this is a tire issue. We contacted firestone, and they informed us that there are issues with the Sienna prematurely wearing out tires due to alignment issues with the design of the Sienna. Firestone agreed to pay for half the cost of new tires. Toyota on the hand has given us the run around and is not taking ownership. We have found that through blogs there are customers that are replacing tires after less than a year of use (<15k miles). We have the entire thread of conversations and maintenance records that show that there is a problem with the design and manufacture of the vechicle's alignment as verified by Toyota service and other repair shops. This is the 5th new car we have owned, and tires last at least 40k miles. Toyota should own up to this and inform customers that they will need to replace tires every 15k miles!.

Excessive tire wear to vehicle front tires detected after 5,846 miles. Alignment checked by dealer. New front tires were installed using a 65,000 mile rated tire. At 22,000 (16,000 miles from time of replacement) excessive wear (to steel cords) noted to new front tires. Manufacturer claims there is no mechanical/design defect in vehicle. Excessive and premature tire wear is creating potentially unsafe driving/operating conditions.
