When I'm driving my vehicle in a city street I get an alert on the instrument panel which says "trac off - check awd system" and the service light turns on. I did not turn the trac off. When I turn the vehicle off and then back on, the service isn't on anymore and the message goes away. This has happened several times when I'm driving and the car stalls and loses speed and wants to shut off as I'm driving in a city street. For several minutes and the service light and the track and awd light turn on and stay on for several hours. However, when I turn off the car the lights are still on but go away after some time. This has happened several times.
Husband lost control of the car driving 75 miled per hour on highway. "awd brake override. Contact dealership" came on a gauge. Pulled off side of I-95 and car shook and came to a complete hault after making a loud grinding noise. We immediatley noticed fire coming from under the hood on driver side. Evacuated, called 911. Car was a total loss. Please get Toyota to investigate since this is not the first 2017 Toyota Sienna to catch on fire in the same manner.
Car stalls when accelerating from a stop. Happens on highway stop and go and when entering a junction after a stop sign. After the stall the car jerks as it suddenly lacks torque and goes to a lower gear. Toyota technician said that traction control shuts off fuel. This is dangerous since it leaves you stalled after going into a junction. They issued a TSB 0197-17 that didn't solve the problem and they claim that there is no problem and that it is a driving style issue.
