When crossing a one-way road with oncoming traffic from the left, a vehicle that has recently passed might be triggering the forward collision avoidance system which cuts off throttle control to the Sienna, even when the passed vehicle is well out of the way. It is unknown if the collision avoidance feature is being triggered as there are no warning lights or messages in the display. This results in the Sienna having no accelerator response and sitting “dead in traffic” sideways in front of oncoming cars. This this is the second time this issue has occurred and today I was nearly t-boned by on-coming vehicles as there was no throttle response to move the car forward. This issue has been reported in 4th generation Sienna (‘21-‘24) forums on facebook. This issue puts at risk vehicle occupants as well as other vehicles on the road.
