Five problems related to side/window air bag have been reported for the 1999 Toyota Tacoma. The most recently reported issues are listed below.
Tl- the contact owns a 1999 Toyota Tacoma. The contact stated that while driving approximately 40 mph the driver suddenly lost control of the vehicle and crashed into an embankment located above a large drainage pipe, completely destroying the vehicle. During the crash neither the driver side or passenger side airbags deployed and both the driver and passenger side seat belts malfunctioned and failed to secure the occupants. The driver suffered bruising and contusions to the head, both knee, and back and the passenger suffered a fractured vertebrae and bruising to both legs and left arm. A police report was taken at the scene. The contact indicated the vehicle had not yet been examined to determine the cause of the failure. The manufacturer was not notified. The failure mileage was 154,000. Jft.
Vehicle was involved in an accident, and neither driver's side or passenger's side airbags deployed. Vehicle hit a telephone pole with the front end portion going 25 mph. Consumer sustained minor injuries.
