2006 Toyota Tacoma took to dealer. Brakes extremely spongy. Almost had accident on two occasions,vehicle would not stop. Technician at dealership checked brakes ,stated he could not duplicate. I took the technician on road test to demonstrate condition. He stated brake fade shown was normal, because I do not agree because of near accidents experienced by me.

2 Brake Electric Antilock problem

Applied brake pedal as I approached an intersection with a red light and could not stop, causing my vehicle to rear end a stopped vehicle. My vehicle also picked up acceleration when I applied the brake a second time. I had to shut the vehicle off in order to stop it from climbing up the rear of the vehicle ahead of me. Police officer at the scene verified this observation afterward indicating a mechanical problem and noted same on the police report. My brand new vehicle was purchased less than two weeks before this accident, towed back to the dealership after the accident and remains there awaiting an inspection by the manufacturer.

3 Brake Electric Antilock problem

In both instances, his foot was on the brake and he was moving less that 5 mph. Both times, the vehicle surged forward as the abs activated, and the front of the vehicle impacted the garage wall. The consumer believed the problem involved the electronic control system that activated and operated the abs and throttle. He noticed that the abs tends to activate too often and too early, even in dry conditions.
