The welds lower control arm mount on the driver side failed when I applied the brakes at high speed and almost caused an accident and almost completely removed my wheel and the lower control arm from the car.
Tire hoist rusting.
Wheel bearings and hub assembly: soon after I took my truck to a Toyota dealership to have the rear leaf springs replaced under a recall, the truck started riding rough and squeaking loudly as it was driven. I went back to the same dealership and they quoted me near $2,000 to replace. The truck seems to ride rougher with each passing day. The dealership said that the front wheel bearings were fine but both of the rear wheel bearings are bad and they further said that they normally replace the hub assembly with the wheel bearings and that was part of the reason for the high cost according to the service rep.

Tl- the contact owns a 2009 Toyota Tacoma. The contact stated that there was an abnormal noise progressing associated with the wheels on the vehicle. The vehicle was taken to the dealer who diagnosed that the right front wheel bearing prematurely failed and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was taken to an independent repair shop who replaced the right front wheel bearing and the failure recurred months later. The abnormal noise was progressing again near the wheels. The vehicle was taken to the dealer who diagnosed that the left rear wheel bearing failed and they replaced the part with an aftermarket wheel bearing. The contact noticed that the abnormal noise continued and the vehicle was taken back to the independent repair shop who replaced the rear right wheel bearing. The manufacturer was notified of the failure several times and provided no remedy. The VIN was not available. The approximate failure mileage was 62,000. Dyd.
At 59,500 miles the left front wheel bearing started making a lot of noise and vibration and noticeably altered the steering. The wheel bearing was replaced under warranty. Now at 90,000 miles the bearing is faulty again and Toyota refuses to fix it again. I took it to my mechanic who told me that he sees a lot of failed wheel bearings on the Tacomas. A failed bearing can result in the wheel locking up or falling off at highway speeds.
