general problems of the 2019 Toyota Tacoma - part 1

While driving at highway speeds fuel pump failed resulting in near miss collision on interstate. Initial fuel pump was replaced with recall. This is second pump that failed. Vehicle towed to bob tyler Toyota in pensacola FL where fuel pump replaced by owner. Toyota refuses to pay for pump even though class action lawsuit resulted in Toyota being responsible for reimbursement. Vehicle has only 36000 miles.

My check engine light came on when I was traveling in oregon. I didn't notice any major changes in my vehicle's performance. Drove it all the way back to colorado without issues. It went off and came back on several times. I replaced the cabin air filter, engine air filter and put fuel injector cleaner in the vehicle. Finally I took it in to the Toyota dealership to get an oil change and then the check engine light came back on. I paid for them to do a diagnostic test and they stated they were almost certain it was the 2nd fuel injector running rich. Brought it back a week later for the repair. Fyi. . . I was still getting 20 mpg in fuel and I wasn't noticing anything major in performance. They replaced the fuel injector and then the check engine light came back on with a different code. They are now running "another" more expensive diagnostic test and I still don't have my truck. They are saying it could be the 2nd cylinder or the engine and claiming it has 150,000 miles so I should expect these issues (and conveniently my warranty has run out).

Truck has 33,xxx miles. Was driving and the fuel gauge needle dropped to e. Dash screen stated 225 miles till empty please refuel. I tried turning it on and off, no change. Filled the gas tank numerous times, no change. Needle remains on e with warning message to please refuel. Mechanic checked and there are no codes or cels.

This 2019 truck feels like it just doesn’t want to go. It struggles to go up any hill no matter how small. The engine jumps feels like it’s got a heart beat while riding. The gas mileage is horrendous and awful the 2015 was all around a better truck I read somewhere that Toyota recalled a bunch of 2019 trucks for a gas line rip was causing fires and whatever else. I thought for sure it had to be my trucks issue bc that would absolutely explain why it’s running so weird and ragged. The poor thing … I’m very worried about it.

Fuel system - vehicle surged (high rpms) while gearshift lever was in the drive position after release of pressure on the accelerator as I was parking the vehicle surged and smashed into a cement post, the vehicle traveled approximately 10 to 15 feet. The vehicle is currently at the dealership where an independent contractor, who is contracted by Toyota, will be doing a visual and diagnostic analysis. I expect the vehicle to be returned to me on 1/19/2023. The vehicle and components have not been inspected by any other individual at this time. There were no warning lights on prior to the surge. Unknown if any warning light came during the incident which I believe was two (2) seconds until impact with the post.

Fuel pump failure at 63k miles. Check engine light came on. P0171 code thrown. Truck began hard starting, and rough idling. Stalled on freeway, stuck at 4k rpm and would not drop. Had to pull off and restart. Checked entire system with certified independent service/aaa mechanic and fuel pump was diagnosed. Fuel pump whines in tank, and fuel trim levels are way off. . . Maxing out in output (39), and falling into the negatives in short term trim levels. All other components testing ok/within ranges. Massive recall on fuel pump for my exact same year/make/model/engine, but my VIN does not show as affected. . . Clearly it has the same issue. I need this pump fixed ASAP, as does everyone else affected that did not get to be apart of the recall.

Full tank of fuel and dashboard is showing 30 miles until empty warning. I have received the engine warning ?? sign on my dashboard as well when this happens. This issue also affects me on the road when I am pressing the accelerator and the engine will not respond, this gas been an issue since they did the fuel pup recall. With a delay in acceleration comes a delay on the brake system as well, two intenses that I've had to press my foot as hard as possible on the brake to avoid a collusion with another vehicle. The last time this happened was on 4/17/2022.

To whom it may concern, I was issued a recall on this vehicle for a defective fuel pump. I have been attempting to rectify the situation through city world Toyota located at 3333 boston road, bronx, NY 10469. On 7/1/2021 I spoke with jorcelyn and was told the part needed to replace the defective component was not in stock and it would be ordered and available within a 4 weeks. I was told I would receive a call back and never did. On 8/9/2021, over a month later, I got in touch with wasile and was again told the part was not in stock. I was told they would check and then call back the following day. Again, I never received a call back. On 8/12/2021 I called again and was told they do not have the part in stock and would call back with an eta. It was been months since this recall was issued and city world Toyota has not rectified the issue. This vehicle has been unsafe to drive since the recall has been issued and I have been pleading with them to resolve it. The customer service standards as well as the regard for safety from city world Toyota has been abysmal. There is no doubt this establishment is blatantly ignoring these safety recalls for not only myself but many others as well.

Noticeable vibration when slowing down. It happens between 40mph to 0 mph. Slight vibration while accelerating from a stop to around 45mph. Engine also surges, and has trouble finding the correct gear while accelerating or decelerating. When put in neutral while slowing down, the vibration is not felt at all. Took the truck to the dealership, explained the issues. Was told nothing was mechanically wrong. They rotated my tires and did a front end alignment. The truck has just over 12k on it ! this is a disaster in the making.

Local Toyota dealership in sierra vista, arizona has stated on multiple occasions that they do not have the parts and are not ordering them.

Nhtsa recall 20v682 - safety recall 20ta02 (interim notice 20tb02), multiple model and model years, vehicle may stall during driving at higher speed. Toyota slow on remedy and not taking issue urgent and no solution. Danger to drive.

Unprompted acceleration - while driving at about 15 mph in moderate traffic, I accelerated briefly and then let off the gas pedal. After releasing the gas pedal, the truck continued to accelerate and even downshifted, causing the truck to lurch forward. Conditions - I was in light to moderate traffic on my commute to work. The traffic was stop-and-go. The cars ahead of me accelerated, so I did as well. The cars ahead of me quickly decelerated, so I let off the gas but did not need to brake as I was a safe distance. The truck continued to accelerate well after I let off the gas and it lurched forward and downshifted in the process. The engine rpm went to about 3,500. I was able to apply the brake, and the acceleration stopped and the engine went back to idle. I have experienced deceleration lag in many vehicles, but in this case, it was a surge, not a lag. It was long enough for me to think of shifting to neutral and applying the emergency brake.

2019 Toyota Tacoma stopped running on the middle of road. Extremely dangerous.

My vehicle (VIN# 3tmdz5bn7km074092) has not had safety recall addressed by my local dealership. The recall was initiated on 28 October 2020. The local dealership has had more than a month to make a plan to fix the problem and has responded to my request by stating that parts are not yet available and feel I should continue to operate my vehicle in its current state.

Received notice of a recall on the low pressure fuel pump in November 2020; still have not been notified to bring my truck in for repairs. I don't feel safe driving more than 20 or 30 miles from home as I don't want to be stranded if the fuel pump fails.

Well the vehicle has a manufacturer recall number 20ta02 and I've contacted the dealer and still haven't taken care of it for reasons unknown.

Truck stalled while on on ramp. I was moving and just about to merge on highway.

Engine stalled unexpectedly.

I was driving on the street that leads to my house when my truck completely shut off. I do not believe that it's safe for me and my family or the public for that vehicle to be out on the road.

In October of 2020 they replaced the fuel pump then noticed a hose was bad it would take 2 months to get that hose. . Upon driving my vehicle I noticed an 4mpg lost. Was getting 22 mpg prior to the change. I have been in contact w/Toyota in texas and they send a 'factory rep' to look at my truck. Here is the problem he snapped a picture stating my truck got 28. 6 mpg, upon getting into my truck it read 20. 6 mpg. They refuse to replace the fuel pump and hose at another dealership. The secretary at Toyota said if they would change and it didn't make a difference they would be wasteful. I said replace it and we will see however you say you not going with the customer the paid good hard earns money for this vehicle we will never know. All I want: is the have a new fuel pump and hose put into my Tacoma, it may not or it will prove there was a problem. I am see I am no alone with this reduction of mpg's with high gas prices. . . . .

Vehicle tends to stall after take off (4 cylinder) I've taken the truck to the Toyota dealership service (no open recall) and service tech/mechanic stated that's how the 4 cylinder is suppose to drive. (not true) I've experienced this problem during take off at stop lights, inability to accelerate while going up slight hills (even after being at 50 mph or over) the truck still won't accelerate (like it's stuck in a gear) has nothing to do with gas level (full, half, quarter) my truck only has 3,300 miles on it and I bought it brand new almost a year ago.

The engine stalls when coasting. The vehicle was in motion on a state highway. A recall notice was issued on January 13, 2020 for this issue but six months have elapsed with no remedy yet available. This is too long.

2019 Toyota Tacoma in less than 2 weeks has been taken to 2 different workshops of the Toyota company, because when trying to turn it on it does not keep the gear down until it turns off and then does not turn on, it has given misfire code in different cylinders and dtc p -008700 on different occasions and the answer from the adviser is that the pick-up is being used with little gasoline. On the instrument panel turns on the check engine and track off light.

I learned about a safety recall on my truck through my insurance app which send me to your website. This recall was reported to you in January 2020, until this date 5/13/20 I have not receive any communications from Toyota explaining the issue that could be potentially affecting the safety of my vehicle. There is still no fix to this problem and I don't feel safe driving this vehicle. How much longer before you force Toyota to take action.

On March 25 I wrote to you about the problems I was having with the vehicle I lease. Toyota has ads on tv stating the service department is still open but I have not been contacted about fixing the problem and I do no feel safe driving the vehicle,because of what Toyota told me on the phone case #2003022885 and what is in the recall letter . If a problem were to occur warning lights and messages may be displayed. If the stalls while driving a this could cause a crash. I deliver fuel oil for a living and I am still driving the vehicle to work everyday and do not feel safe although I have written to the vt consumer agency about this they have so far been unable to do anything.

It started with my csae file at Toyota#2003022885 then went to the conusmer protection agency case#2020-03344 they sent me to lemon law got you email off recall notice. Basicaly they told me at first not to drive truck fast[couln't tell me how fast]because truck could shut down. I got the formal recall in the mail 3/20/20 I have not heard from the dealership or Toyota since. The truck makes me very nervous driving it because I don't know how fast I can drive it without having a wreck. It's a lease vehicle I think they should either fix it or terminate the lease.

I paid cash for a 2019 Tacoma and the dealer said it would be 2 weeks to get the recall fix. That was in early February no fix no car no money.

I had to recall before , but I did not see anythings and I was waiting so long.

2019 Toyota Tacoma trd off-road 4x4 11,800 miles. -driving at highway speeds on busy interstate in traffic. Check engine light appears, then vehicle loses all power. Miracleulously was able to coast into a clearing on side of road, with being struck by another vehicle. Had vehicle towed to. Newbold Toyota o�fallon, illinois. They kept the truck two days, said the ran numerous test, but could not determine cause. So, now I have a brand new truck, that I am not going to be willing to drive with my 2 children in, because it's obviously is going to happen again.

Tacoma started having issues were it was turning off weeks after buying it in the beginning of 2018. Took it to shop 4 times and they kept saying nothing was wrong so on the 4thbtime I asked to speak to manager because of the risk this posses. They change gas pump but not sure if this actually fixed issue and I am concerned as there is no remedy in sight.

I was drivin in the highway 65 m/h and I was using the cruise control, just as it passed through the ezpass toll booth the pre-collision system activated and brake abruptly,I also feel that when you drive about 60 miles per hour you apply the brake I feel small vibrations in the car and finally the 4x4 control knob is close to the fan knob and by mistake I connected the 4x4 when I want to turn on the fan I think it should have something like security to not be connected so easily.
