On 11/23/15 I was able to take possession of the vehicle. On 11/24/15 I got into the vehicle to crank it up when the vehicle¿s warning lights of brake, abs warning to check the anti¿lock brake system and check brake system and the antiskid/traction lights came on at approximate 110 miles. I immediately called the dealership and was told that it would not hurt the vehicle to drive it and that it was safe. I was told that it was probably just a fuse by a salesperson, who allegedly talked to one of the master technicians about the situation. On 11/30/15 I also reported that the cruise control was also not working to the service department when I arrive at the dealership. The vehicle was diagnosed with a bad left rear speed sensor at 185 miles and again that the vehicle was safe to drive. On 12/04/15 at 334 miles the sensor was replaced. As I was going home on the interstate highway and less than 10 miles away, the same lights and warning readouts came back on. I immediately turned the vehicle around and proceeded back to the dealership. On my way back to the dealership while slowing down, a loud metallic banging/rattle could be heard coming from the rear end. When I got back to the dealership, I explained the same symptoms happened again as before and that now clanging/rattle in the rear end had developed to the service manager. At approximately 4:00p. M. , I received a call from the service department and was told that a rear wheel bearing was not installed correctly from the factory, that it had done some damage and that the parts were ordered. I expressed my concerns about possible other damage such as the brakes, tire, sensors or the rear housing and safety of the vehicle.

In reference to u. S. District court for the western district of arkansas case number: 1:14-cv-02208 I currently own a 05 Tacoma that has the frame rusted completely, I've contacted Toyota repeatedly about this issue and they are denying to fix this because this vehicle is no longer in the USA. My argument here is that Toyota has known about this problem and has had may complaints about it yet did nothing about it, they should fix this the vehicle regardless of where it is because it poses a major safety risk to my life and others on the road.

What happens: the front anti-lock brakes independently actuate for approximately . 5-2. 5 seconds. When: turning left 90%, right 8% and forward 2% the most frequent is a left turn where the bank of the road is at a significant angle. It is terrifying on a mountain road to have your front end dive down and loose control. My nerves are on edge with every turn, wondering if the truck is going to do its dive. My girlfriend refuses to ride in the vehicle because of it. It started happening approximately a year ago and I had faith Toyota would come out with a fix. Toyota hasn't and there are numerous articles/complaints about the exact issue. It is a serious problem, especially on winding roads with oncoming traffic. And only a matter of time before something horrific happens. That one inexperienced driver that doesn't react quickly enough. Please put out the fix before the accident happens.

Driving to work traveling at between 55-60 I was going around a slight curve my foot was on the accelorator and out of no where the abs or stability control or somthing caused my truck to slam on the breaks causing the front to dive down and a temporary loss of control. No crash just spooked. I drive the route every day the same way never had this happen before. The skid indicator was flashing but no noticable skid. I am sensitve to that feeling and there was none detected prior to this happening.
On multiple occasions the abs system appears to be overly sensitive, causing extremely low braking power. This is beyond the normal characteristics of abs systems in other cars. The system virtually eliminates any ability to slow or stop the vehicle. Even when a single wheel has lost traction, all wheels will be pulsed to the point of no braking power. Many others with several model years of trucks have the same issues. Some have disabled the system and experienced better braking. Even though steering control may be improved, in this truck, stopping power has been virtually eliminated.

I was driving on the freeway, in light rain. My car randomly engaged a system that slowed my vehicle down. This resulted in my losing traction with the road, my truck began to hydroplane. My truck spun and moved towards the highway median. The median had a v-ditch, my front passenger tire impacted the v-ditch and flipped my vehicle. If it weren't for my seat belt locking and side airbags deploying it may have been a fatal accident. It was a life threatening accident.

Electronic stability control turns off when check engine light turns on. Vehicle stability is compromised. Almost rolled the truck over. Dealer technician reports that rodents ate the hose connecting fuel injector air pump to valve which triggers the ecu to fault and cascades failure to stability control. Technician reports that Toyota is using edible soy-based plastics for engine hoses and wiring harness and rodents are causing extensive damage in Toyota vehicles. Toyota does not cover related repairs under manufacturers warranty. Was quoted $1000 to replace one hose since dealer claims Toyota does not sell individual replacement part for this hose. Therefore, the esc will not get fixed for some time.

First let me start with how I ended up with this horrible vehicle. We had a 2012 chevy diesel, amazing truck, great truck. Diesel prices had been rising and was just costing to much to drive and we wanted to start saving some money. We shopped around and ended up looking at the Toyota Tacoma, not the best quality but none the less decent gas mileage (or so we thought). Since day one we have not been able to get better then 15 mpg on the highway! absolutely ridiculous! 14 city! have had fuel efficiency test done and thats what they came up with as well and claim nothing is wrong. Corporate refuses to do anything and claim nothing is wrong, yet everyone I know with this same truck is getting no less then 18 mpg highway. I hope I'm the only one dealing with this because the small truck gets worse gas mileage then any full size truck I've ever owned. I will never buy a Toyota again nor will anyone I know or anyone in my family. Stay as far away as possible for Toyota. Now onto the track control, it likes to activate at random. If your sitting at a stand still and try to drive forward with just the slightest roll back it goes crazy! and the brakes, if your going down a hill and you use the brake for more then roughly 30 sec it will start to vibrate, make a horrible grinding noise and the steering wheel starts shaking. . . . The quality of this vehicle is poor and I must add that they do not stand behind their product nor with they fix it. All they will tell you is "well sorry if your unhappy with your vehicle, we will send you arbitration paperwork. ".
First 3 weeks ago or so my radio shut itself off then on again, repeated that 3 time since then. Seatbelt chime went off like I just started driving again while I was driving. Dash transmission indicator light faded and re-lit. While parked and engine running trac control off light and auto lsd light came on. Today 6/3/14 the radio totally reset back to a different station when I turned truck on .
This has happened several times, while driving between 20 and 40 mph on dry pavement, slight curve, a beep in dash, shaking in right front wheel, as it pulled into oncoming lane to the left, I hit brakes "clunk" it took both hands to pull back into my lane. Power was lowered, felt like power steering went or lost a wheel. After out of curve everything fine. Would have hit someone head on if a car had been in the other lane. Called dealership, they stated it was normal. This has happend on and off about 10 or 12 times in the past 3 months. The vehicle now has 41000 and still having the same peoblem.

On 10/1/2011 while driving 40 mph on dry pavement, slight curve, pu beep beep in dash as it went into oncoming lane to left quick, I hit brakes "clunk" took both hands to pull to right and off the road. Felt like power steering went or lost a wheel. Would of hit someone head on if was meeting a car or truck. No cell service, so decided to slowly turn around, and try to get home==1 mi. Or less. Parked. Called dealership, they said they would have towed, but if they find nothing I have to pay. I drove up tues. , they said nothing wrong. Probably leveling--because I put a 3" lift on it. I now am afraid to drive my new pu. 2,600 mi. They said they put on machine, but no print out as it showed nothing wrong?????.
In a left cloverleaf turn, approximately 40 mph, the stability control system seemed to apply the front brakes, causing the truck to slide uncontrollably to the right. Since then, this has happened numerous times, in both directions, at speeds between 15 and approximately 50 mph.

The contact owns a 2009 Toyota Tacoma. The contact stated that while driving approximately 40 mph around a curve, the abs engaged without the brakes being depressed. The electronic stability control warning indicator illuminated with a chime and then turned off. The failure recurred nine times. The vehicle had not been diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the defect. The approximate failure mileage was 19,000. The VIN was unavailable.
I have a 2004 Toyota Tacoma truck ( not included on the recent Toyota recall) this truck has been recalled before for a front axle ball bearing defects ,Toyota changed the ball bearings which I thought would fixed the problem . But just last week I drove into a bumpy road and I noticed that when you step on the brakes while on a bumpy road the brakes would dud and seems the mid axles will breakdown ,it make weird noise .

2006 Toyota Tacoma . Abs brakes right front brake when slowing or coming to a stop @ times applying the brakes in a normal manner. The right front seems to lock up while
the others seem not to brake @ all. And slid through a traffic light. Took it to Toyota 2/15/10 picked up 2/18 /10, could not duplicate . This has happened before when it was about1 to 11/2 years old was pulling a small trailer, I called Toyota the said it happened because of pulling the trailer, so never took it in. It when this happens
there is like a loud rumbling buzzing vibration coming from the right front. Also ever since new the idle will run rough then speed up to run normal. At Toyota they said its normal 4 a Tacoma to run like that & there was nothing they could do to fix it.

We own a 2007 Toyota Tacoma. Back in 2009 I had an instance where I was driving during snowy conditions and when approaching an intersection, while applying the brakes the abs kicked in to where I could not stop and I coasted into the intersection and got in a minor accident. I have noticed several times throughout the years in the road has any wet, slippery, lose grip the abs will kick in and prevent me from being able to stop. Even when the road is dry, if one tire of the three lose any traction my brakes stop functioning making it incredibly difficult to stop because the abs system. After researching online, apparently this issue is common with my generation truck. There have been countless instances of people sliding into intersections unable to stop because of the abs. Not as many as unfortunate as me to get into an accident because of it. I have been searching for a solution and feel that Toyota should have a recall to prevent further accidents.

I bought my 2005 Tacoma about 2 months ago. I have experienced this problem three times now. The last time being tonight after picking up my daughter at work. The truck was accelerating and I was literally standing on the brake and the engine was racing and would not stop. I through it into neutral and it sounded like it was going to explode! I have no rugs in my vehicle, it did not come with any, and I was going to get the all weather mats, but have not bought them yet. The cruise control was not engaged. I do consider myself to be a fairly experienced driver, I use to race a 70 chevelle in the 1/4 mile (this was many years ago. ), if I did not have such experience I am sure I would have ran the car up a tree or something. I am scared, I have beat cancer twice and I'll be !@#$% if I am going to let a faulty Tacoma take me out!.
