1 Front Seat Head Restraint problem of the 2003 Toyota Tacoma

Failure Date: 02/12/2020

Once you fasten the seat belt, it tightens with any movent and restrains the body to the point that disables movement or even breathing. This is very unsafe.

2 Front Seat Head Restraint problem of the 2015 Toyota Tacoma

Failure Date: 02/08/2016

My trucks headrests are tilted so far forward that it causes significant pain in my neck. They came this way from the factory. I have to turn the headrest around to relieve the pain, which then exposes me to an even higher risk of whiplash. You idiots at NHTSA who changed the regulations so that car manufacturers had to build them this way need to repeal the law.

3 Front Seat Head Restraint problem of the 2003 Toyota Tacoma

Failure Date: 08/05/2015

The metal bar inside the seat headrest is coming through the cloth. There is no padding between the metal bar and your head. In a crash you would hit the metal bar inside the headrest with your head. Other people on the internet have complained of the same problem.

4 Front Seat Head Restraint problem of the 2001 Toyota Tacoma

Failure Date: 12/09/2013

The foam in the headrest of both the driver and passenger seats has deteriorated to the point that the metal bar underneath is exposed. Neither seats have had seat covers, the vehicle has not been in any wrecks, and the headrests have been used normally. I have been searching for a fix to this problem and this looks to be common for this generation of Toyota trucks. This shouldn't be an issue for a vehicle of this age and is a very dangerous problem for such an important piece of safety equipment.

5 Front Seat Head Restraint problem of the 2003 Toyota Tacoma

Failure Date: 09/07/2013

Foam in head restraints have deteriorated to the point where the steel bar is only covered by the fabric of the head restraint. This should be considered a safety hazard. If a person in a car accident was to have their head hit the head restraint, serious injury would occur because of the exposed steel bar.

6 Front Seat Head Restraint problem of the 2003 Toyota Tacoma

Failure Date: 04/18/2012

The foam inside the driver's head rest has deteriorated so a steel bar is covered by only fabric and no foam. It creates a hazard because in case of a rear end crash, the driver's head will impact a steel bar instead of a foam pad. I contacted Toyota. They consider it out of warranty and want almost $500 for a new head restraint. This is like saying the seatbelts or airbags don't have to work for the life of the vehicle.

7 Front Seat Head Restraint problem of the 2009 Toyota Tacoma

Failure Date: 10/01/2008

The contact owns a 2009 Toyota Tacoma. The contact stated that his front driver seat causes back pain and his head rest causes neck pain. The contact took the vehicle to the dealer. The dealer could not remedy the issue with the seat. The contact feels that this is a personal safety issue because it causes neck and back pain. Failure mileage was 10,000. Current mileage is 28,000.

9 Front Seat Head Restraint problem of the 2000 Toyota Tacoma

Rear seat passengers heads strike the rear window. If I were to be rearended by another vehicle, an occupants head will go through the glass.

10 Front Seat Head Restraint problem of the 2000 Toyota Tacoma

I am concerned that nothing is in place to prevent rear seat passengers heads from striking the rear window. Vehicle is sold with "child restraint system" however, nothing is in place to stop someones head from striking the glass in case of an accident and during acceleration. I have written before and not received any kind of response from you or Toyota.
