1 Fuel Injection problem of the 2006 Toyota Tacoma

Failure Date: 07/27/2006

Applied brake pedal as I approached an intersection with a red light and could not stop, causing my vehicle to rear end a stopped vehicle. My vehicle also picked up acceleration when I applied the brake a second time. I had to shut the vehicle off in order to stop it from climbing up the rear of the vehicle ahead of me. Police officer at the scene verified this observation afterward indicating a mechanical problem and noted same on the police report. My brand new vehicle was purchased less than two weeks before this accident, towed back to the dealership after the accident and remains there awaiting an inspection by the manufacturer.

2 Fuel Injection problem of the 2004 Toyota Tacoma

Failure Date: 11/15/2004

After running the vehicle and shutting it off for about 2 hours the vehicle did not want to start, there was only about 2,000 miles on the truck. The starter is cranking the engine, but the engine is not starting up. I took it to the Toyota service department, and they said nothing was wrong with the vehicle. The same thing happend severl times after I had taken it to Toyota. The only way to start the vehicle would be to crank it up for about 5 minutes, then the vehicle would run rough for about a minute. I took it to the Toyota service department again and this time they worked on it. They said they had to change the throttle position sensor, the engine wiring harness, and the fuel injectors. No old parts were available. Problem has still not been corrected. Vehicle now has about 6,000 miles and every 3-4 days it still doesn't want to start up.

4 Fuel Injection problem of the 1996 Toyota Tacoma

Since the date of purchase I smell gas on the oil stick indicating that fuel is in the crank case (confirmed by dealer). I was advised (by dealer)that it is not abnormal for vehicles mostly driven short distances, but I have driven long distances had oil changed and still have problem. Also, I have owned many vehicles, including Toyota trucks, and haven't had this problem before. Occasionally I have a strong smell of fuel for no apparent reason. I am trying to verify if this is indeed "normal" oil level does not appear to be affected.

5 Fuel Injection problem of the 1998 Toyota Tacoma
