The contact owns a 2000 Toyota Tundra. After the vehicle struck a pothole, it made an abnormal noise and the check engine warning indicator illuminated. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic where it was diagnosed that the O2 sensor was defective. Upon further inspection, stated that the u-bolt deteriorated. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where it was diagnosed that the vehicle experienced severe corrosion and would need to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 124,604.
